The early 2007 cars did not have canbus pins on the obd2 port, therefore it does it over the slow K-Line protocol instead.
Yes, mine is an 10/2006 build. Will look into this K-Line protocol, never heard of it.

Thanks

My car, which was 10/2006 build 335i did not have canbus on the obd2 port... here is an easy way to tell if your car has canbus pins on the obd2 port:

Look at your obd2 port with a flashlight. You can see obvious metal pins in some slots....

Pin 2 - J1850 Bus+
Pin 4 - Chassis Ground
Pin 5 - Signal Ground
Pin 6 - CAN High (J-2284)
Pin 7 - ISO 9141-2 K Line
Pin 10 - J1850 Bus
Pin 14 - CAN Low (J-2284)
Pin 15 - ISO 9141-2 L Line
Pin 16 - Battery Power

My 10/2006 build 335i DID NOT have any pins on CAN High or CAN Low (6 and 14)... the BT tool still works, but it is slow! Cause it uses the older bmw protocol. Now, oddly enough, some cars built before and after mine actually do have those pins... it seems to be just a very random set of 335i's that don't have them!

If you don't have those pins for canbus, don't waste your time trying to make it go faster! It's not gonna go any faster!

Yep, no pins for 6 & 14. So I just have a short bus car....this sucks, no data logging for me.

Thanks for the info. Really helps.
