So given this was a moderate success, there's still the issue of getting an economical and reliable supply of the three-stage intake manifolds.

just a question....
say one only gets the 330 ecu program.... will it still work the same? basically saying... is the 3 stage intake manifold necessary?

I am thinking that doing the 330i software only will likely do what the Turner Motorsports Stage I software mod for the 325i does... beef up the midrange and add 4 horsepower up top. I think you need the manifold to get the upper midrange and high-end power of the 330i.

We are still working on getting a reliable supplier for the intakes, not to mention one that can get them at a price you guys will want to pay for.

Another question... I am here in Canada and have a 174hp E90 323i. My understanding is that the 2.5 liter engine in my 323i is detuned from the euro spec 325i 2.5 liter engine in exactly the same way as the US 325i 3.0 liter is detunred from the US 330i 3.0 liter. Will there be a way to make my 323i a euro spec 325i? |

Nice FinneVette, Nice!
I think I dyno'ed around 170 in my MT, RWD 325 with it and no software. Which means it definitely is working, considering you have greater losses between the AT and AWD. |

In theory, changing my 323i to a euro spec 325i should be the exact same process. |

As a follow up to my quest to convert my Canadian 323i to a Euro-spec 325i, I found something interesting.
I went and looked at pretty much all the part numbers between these two cars and it seems as though my 174hp 323i and the 218hp Euro 325i actually have the same intake manifold! Pretty much every part is identical between the two cars... the only difference I found is that the Euro 325i has a heat exchanger on the oil filter and my Canadian 323i does not. This is leading me to believe that I may only need a re-flash to make my car get the extra horsepower! Any thoughts on this? May be someone from CREATIVE has some input?? |

Finvette, any way you can post the dyno graph on here? Do you have steptronic or 6MT?
We never dyno tested a Xi, but here is a link to a number of E90s we dyno tested for comparison: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...o+test+outcome |

Dyno sheet - I finally got it
I do not know how you are supposed to read this, but the successful pull resulted 186,5 hp. In the picture RPM scaling in relation to the 169,2 hp pull must be incorrect or something. After the 169.2hp pull we disconnected the ABS/DSC/x-drive controller and car didn't shake anymore. And you can forget the torque graphs...

unfortunately after a good amount of effort from a number of people it looks like those graphs are useless.
At this point in time Creative will have to step up and perform this enhancement on another car preferably a 6M-325i to get some real results. |

yeah... those runs don't make much sense.
Creative will need to show us a run with a rwd car. I wonder if they will beat Turner Motorsports to it as they are currently doing their "Stage II" on the 325i which I can pretty much guarantee will be damn close to being a 330i conversion. |

What ever happened with the idea of just doing some G-Tech accelerations with both ECU's? Since your car is an automatic, you can almost guarentee that each run will be identical. I'd suggest doing a couple of runs with the 325 ecu, wait a while to let the car cool down and do it again with the 330 one. There should be at least a .5 second (if not more) difference between the two.
I realize that the G-tech isn't a precise instrument, however at this point it seems to be the only thing that'll give you/us a definitive result. |
