Thanks guys. Yeah, I love this lens. Was very happy with my shoot last night, got my first ever lightning shots as well! Will be posting them later once I get through work today and process them.

Yup. It's now up in Oregon. It's a really nice museum, but just like just about every other air museum, it's almost impossible to get good photographs. Bad light combined with stuff just crammed in everywhere makes it tough to get a decent shot. You pretty much just have to try for unique detail shots.

Is that a floor fan inside the second window, Ed? Looks like one I have in my office. Gives you a good sense of the enormous size of that thing if you can walk around inside with like it's your living room.

They wanted 50 bucks to get into the cockpit and get a picture taken I have over 10,000 hours riding in military cargo planes, plenty of it up front, so no thanks. The museum is very impressive though, and right in the middle of Oregon wine country, so definitely worth a detour if you're in the area. Plus if you have kids, what youngster wouldn't want to ride a waterslide out of a 747? 747 Waterslide 2 by lennycarl08, on Flickr |

Thanks Ed. That museum looks pretty awesome. Enough about kids doing the warterslide out of a 747... I'd be first in line!

+1. A good theme for a future photo contest could be "storefronts", IMHO.

Ed,
I like that 4 engine shot of the Goose. By the looks of it the SR is fairly small? I always thought it was very long and wide. Lenny and Carl are not related? I looked at your Flickr and finally could tell the difference. It looks like you got a good trip in.

Thanks Webl, it was a great trip, if a bit short. I didn't get to see everything I wanted to. The SR is about 107 feet long with a 55 foot wingspan, so yeah, not huge, but. You really have to see it person to appreciate it.
Lenny and Carl are indeed related. They are brothers who have never been apart their whole lives. Lenny is just biger boned than Carl. (He never met a food dish he didn't like) |
