They sent me the smaller one and I bought the bigger one. The intercooler looks good, you can tell its no 1k intercooler but for what you pay for its pretty damn good. Here are some pictures before I put it back in the box b/c I will probably send it back and make them send me the right one.

Well it turns out they discontinued the 6 inch one so all you can get is the smaller one. They had great customer service, since the description read 6 they refunded me the difference without me even asking. Can't wait to get it in and see what it can do.

Thanks for being guinea pig. This is why I would never cheap out and buy ebay parts. Even though there may be some good items on there, its too big of a hassle and you can never know who to trust. Feedback doesnt mean squat. The guys selling $40 +25000 horsepower plastic stickers have near flawless feedback... idiots in this world.

The part that sucks is the IC is nice its just its placement that sucks, it just doesn't sit in the right place, but you live n you learn. I will update when I get the new one in.

Well of course the fitment is terrible, its an rx7 v-mount, its not made for that car , that's where custom work comes in. when I'm done it will fit better and work just as good if not better than an ams IC. On top of that I got all the pieces to my door for exactly 271 dollars.

Was the IC that you bought off ebay the X02 Racing one or the Godspeed? I have been looking at the Godspeed, but dont't want to get it if that is indeed the one that sits to low.

I had godspeed but I can honestly day their customer service was good and they gave me a full refund no questions asked. But I think they are both the same and wouldn't buy an ebay intercooler that they say "fits" with minor trimming. Just save up and buy a reputable one or buy CX-Racing and have a shop custom fit it.

I got the bigger god speed xo2 used and the guy had a bracket that held the unit higher. He shaved off the tabs and ran a support bracket under the unit that holds it 1 inch higher. Boost is down about 1/2 psi from stock and I hear a loud whistling now during boost. I have been over every inch of the plumbing and there is either a leak in the unit itself or I am hearing the turbos amplified through all the metal plumbing now. Temps are down for sure but I am not certain about performance just yet. It bugs me to see about .7 psi below target on jb4 in spots.???

Buying a Ebay DP is one thing.. an intercooler requires much more quality control to make sure its made to spec and has no leaks. I can almots guarantee you they aren't leak tested before shipping. If your getting a high pitched whistle and you've triple checked your seals.. I would bet you have some sort of pinhole leak somewhere in your IC. There's really not an easy way to check it. I would just send the thing back. After seeing Godspeed's own images on their ebay auctions it was enough for me to not consider them. The fitment, how low it sits, the close up of the fins.. |
