Yeah, I might look at going back to straight 98 and see what I can get out of it.

e85 at $1.69/l is ridiculous Equivalent of $2.20/l since it uses 30% extra fuel.
I saw ulp91 for 78c/l yesterday. pulp98 is 94.7c at Costco, 99.9 at United and 1.03-1.15 at BP. |

I will have to price a 200L drum of Shell Race Blend E85 and see how much a litre it is now just for fun. I have gone back to BP98 with the current version 1 tune at 18psi boost. You certainly can feel a 10psi drop in boost pressure in the performance of the car. As the boost is raised in future versions, it should feel better. I am enjoying being able to just go down the road to fill up with 98 and getting 10.2 L/110km is a large difference compared to 16.4 L/100km with the E85. To fill up with E85 required me driving to and from the closest United servo with E85 which was 50 km round trip. At 16.4 L/100, that meant I used 8.2L ($13.90) of fuel just to fill up. The closest BP servo is a 10km round trip i.e. 1L ($1.34) of 98. The extra range of 200kms a tank is also handy for going for a drive and enjoying the car.

Around 18 months later and E85 is still $1.69/l, which is the equivalent of ~$2.20/l after taking the extra 30% fuel usage into consideration.
On the other hand, pulp98 has doubled in price from sub-$1/l to around $2/l !!! Although, this seems to be the peak but the trough is still quite high at up to $1.70/l. Seems to make E85 very worthwhile at the moment for 20c/l more and far higher power for track use. I'd still use pulp98 at its cheapest, especially for the extra range. I saw a graph recently that showed the low point for the fuel price cycle is now occurring once every five weeks Some states fared better. |

It is amazing how the price of E85 in Australia continues to rise. Here in Brisbane, it is dearer than 98 selling for $2.19.9 per litre. When I started this thread back in March 2020, it was $1.59.9/L. The ethanol is made in Australia and I cannot see how you can justify such a hike in the price of E85 when 85% is ethanol. I can understand due to transport costs rising some increase is expected but how it can be dearer than 98 is unbelievable.

Remember when we complained when 98 was $160 a litre. Oh how i long for those days of yore. My 335 gets 8 lph on the freeway at 120. Even trundling around town i can get about 12 lph but as soon as I flog it a few times, it completely destroys the average for the tank amd goes to 17lph.
