Don't get me wrong. I don't hate the Blacklines. I'm just not sure I like them more than I do the stock lights.

Look at the photo of the e46 below. Notice the "L" shape. If you love the e46 tail lights, I would think you would prefer the L shape of the e90 vs the Blacklines.

I also posted the rears of some Civics as you had requested. Of course, a Civic is a Civic and a BMW is a BMW. A BMW with Blacklines is still unmistakeably a BMW.

Bear in mind in looking at the above photos that I am alluding to what the "mind's eye" perceives.

I agree with you: blacklines slightly improve the rear of the e90, but it's still the least flattering angle to view the car from, IMHO

funny that the only 3 series to have a true L shape tail light is the e46. only other cars i can think of that had L shape tail lights are the e53 x5, e36/8 z3 coupe / m coupe, e34 5er, and e32 7er. the e83 x3 could fit into this category, but i think it's tail lights are more of a T shape.

anyway, that being said, i also like the L shape tail lights since my previous car was an e34. imho, i'm not really getting quite the L shape effect from the stock e90 tails.

e90 tail lights in general remind me of the nissan primera / infiniti g20 tails.

Personally, I love the blacklines. I like when I lock my car and only amber lights blink - in the front, on the sides, and in the rear. Plus, like some one else said, I think it makes the rear look wider. I could do without the smoked lens but at least it isn't a real dark smoke. To each his own, but for me, I think it was a great improvement to the look of the e90.

Would you sell the blacklines?

Sorry, I didn't know there were broken.

With the blacklines, I feel like my E90 looks wider and much more aggressive. I could not drive an E90 with the stock rear lamps. Also, who can honestly like the red blinkers? Only Buick Park Avenues and Mercury Marquis have red signals. Red blinkers=cheap, ugly American cars. It is illegal in Europe with red signals, blinkers must be amber (and for a good reason, especially in bright sun).
