I bought PBX and other goodies such as MTEC angle eyes and RPi scoops from http://www.motorcepts.com/
Msg John@Motorcepts for a quote. OR You can simply order from http://burgertuning.com/BMS_Power_Box.html |

I think they refer to $500 Hong Kong dollars, which is about $70 US. I believe is a fair price for those who has no clue about Automotive mechanic or electrical stuff.

Hi Guys
New here in HK, just got a E90 323 M Sport and looking to get the PBX too. How much is the going rate for this now? I see previous posts that are 1-2yrs old with prices around the $3000-3500 mark including installation. I just called a garage for the PBX+Installation and they quoted me $6500hkd for plug and play option, and $7500hkd if they need to mess around with the harness...... I dont have to have someone install for me, but if its only $500 or so to do so, then so be it, but $6500+ for a piggy back chip is really Thanks in advance! |

Thanks for the offer!
I will PM you when I am ready, would be good to meet some of you guys and learn from you, I am still new to the E90 whats possible and whats not... So I am assuming everyone buys from the original site, get sent over then? That only works out to around $2500hkd. |

But recently, my bimmer friends who owns a E9X 323 325i (N52 engine) pumped to the next level of tuning, they picked the Turner Motorsport and Active Autowerke ECU remap which are more refine and provide better performance gain. |

While having PE installed by "Loongwah", they recommend PedalBox to me and claimed that it makes my car react better, no more throttle lag. But I said "NO thx, I'm not interested." since I got PBX installed Pedal Box is kind of gas pedal boosting device like the famous "SprintBooster". Nothing related to "A/F ratio mapping" or ecu tuning. Get more ideas from: http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=35 |

PBX: Better Throttle response, but car tends to get a bit "jerky" when you have Map 3 on
AA Tune ECU Flash: GREAT for every driving. Not as aggressive/jerky as a PBX but has a smoother powerband, more pull from mid-range onwards. Feels as if the car wants to "go" if you know what I mean. For everyday drive, I turn off the PBX. For our SMD, I turn the PBX to Map 3. It's the only way I can keep up with the Three Three Fives / Three Three 0. Or at least attempt to... hahahahah To be honest, if there is only one thing you will mod, go for the PBX. Best and most instant bang for the buck. AA Tune is better when you have other mods, such as intake, exhaust, Okada etc. It also needs to "learn" so you won't get instant changes Hope this helps. |

When is the next one? Dont say this Sunday
PBX installed, I only have a KnN drop in filter and cat back Remus, not looking to go for anymore mods. Maybe at a later date 3 stage intake, but as it stands now, I am quite happy with the way its driving. I get what you mean about jerkyness on map3, but I can live with that, though I do tend to find 2-3.5k rpm, its still a little reluctant, but 3.5k rpm onwards, it really likes to keep pulling and I feel that surge then..............RED LIGHT! |
