I did it when I moved to Japan though it wasn't really a choice. Took forever to get my gaijin card so I could get a soft bank iphone, and I was not fluent enough to really understand what they were saying on antenna TV. I read a lot of ebooks.

I seldom use my cell for conversations, and getting rid of TV is easy; if you have any kind of life you won't miss it at all. Season 5 of breaking bad just came out on Netflix. New to me, and if I have time I can watch 2 or 3 at a time- no waiting.

Actually...I take it back. No way in hell should you get rid of your cable. Somebody has to keep paying for those shows. Thank you for your service.
