Simon will be offering the e-maps remap for the 335d soon- there's no doubt there.

If I were in your position Zim, I'd prefer to wait a little while.

Also, both companies offer group remaps at any location in the UK- you do not necessarily have to travel a great distance for the initial work to be carried out.
We were planning a group remap at UK2.

All the best.

I don't know for the 335D, but I suppose it's the same as the 320D.
They have to take out the ECU and remap it, with a E46 there was a plug they could use so the ECU could stay in the car during the 'upgrade'.
There are 2 types of tuners, the ones that remap your ECU with a 'standard' program, and the ones that extensively optimize the ECU for max performance and safety on your engine. The latter also provide you with a before and after dyno test.
I called my BMW dealer to inform about the warranty: he assures me they CAN detect the modification, and your waranty will be void. He also told me he has never seen any problems with a remapped engine

DMS just plug in - they don't remove the ECU. They have all the BMW diagnostic kit and are definite that it cannot be detected.

However, it's going to be fairly obvious when you drive it that something is up.

I had the DMS remap on my 535D Sport touring and it was worth every penny. I covered 30000 miles and had no problems , the car revs better and certainly went better with really no effect on fuel consumption. After the remap on a straight road you will have no problems staying with a M3 upto 100mph .
I think i paid around £800 as it was a group buy at the time but just talk to them and you will get a good deal .
I had a nice chap pull up to my home and spend about 30 mins on my car and that was it .

scoot - are you getting an e90?

I have a theory that many ex e60 owners are swapping to the e90.

Just took a look at the www.tuningbox.com site and they are quoting 341 bhp for the 335d
It is definitely undetectable by the dealer - so long as you remove the box before going in to them of course. :-)

You really don't want to mess up your engine with such crap as a tuningbox. It's not finetuned for your specific engine. A good tuner will take over your engine waranty.
