I am ruining the ~300 ml aem nozzle, the middle one, it says use that one for 300 hp. Dont mind having a bit smaller one as meth is expensive here.

Can someone with experience lend advice?
I'm on eBay looking at kits and there's about a dozen that look fine to me. However, they're not all the same by any means. I'm trying to spend around $599 or less. If I can have two nozzles great, do I need two? And the 600+ sized nozzle is something that I'll want if I can't get it in the kit. I wouldn't mind a "large" reservoir for the trunk but it's not necessary. Hope that all is enough info. It doesn't have to come from eBay but I prefer it with my PayPal balance being the funding source. Can't wait to get on Meth. |

I maybe throwing the CAT amongst the pigeons, but if you already have low charge the temps the gains with meth the power gains will be greatly diminished.
I know on petrols it cools the intake charge thus, you can dial in more ignition timing but how does it work on a diesel tuning wise, just increase diesel injected and thus lower EGT's? I do have experience with a AEM meth system on my old supercharged S2000 which i tuned and installed (found it a little laggy TBH), that dropped temps significantly (around 25c) due to poor heat exchange system but didn't do much for power gains with the timing. Just wondering how in the tune you can take advantage of meth in a diesel and how it works in a diesel technically/theoretically?, because over here in the UK where its not as hot as the US the gains will be small IMO. Thanks |

FWIW meth is capable of lowering temps further than an intercooler can. Intercooler can only reach ambient, meth can cool to below ambient. Its not best suited for that method though unless you want to fill the tank every day

The WaterMeth store on eBay seems to have some great items, albeit a little bit pricey but they are really up on the diesel meth injection scene... good nozzles, 300psi pumps, and great sump tanks. Lots of nice features.
They actually drop-ship from AIS. Here's the kit I purchased: http://www.alcoholinjectionsystems.c...duct_info.html When comparison shopping, the AIS kits stand out for a few reasons, but since they aren't a site sponsor I won't delve into it. Just know that I did a lot of research and side-by-side comparison, and for the money this is the best kit out there. The kit I purchased was actually through the eBay seller above, avoiding tax, getting free shipping, and it includes a low level sensor ($40 addition from AIS) and two nozzles to test out. Essentially, I saved about $100 vs. ordering directly from AIS. Nozzle size/pressure question: I mentioned what many of you guys are running, nozzle wise, and he is sending me two nozzles- score! One 8 GPH (504 ml/min) and a 10gph (630 ml/min). I've read that, depending on the pressure, you can double or even more than double the rating on the nozzle... like at 250psi the 504ml/min can put out something like 1200 ml/min, but the whole point of having a high psi pump is for better atomization, right? So in that case, would I want a +/- 300ml/min nozzle and run it at nearer the 300psi peak of the pump included with the kit? I guess these are the kind of questions that caused me to start this post to begin with! One huge perk is that I can install/uninstall much more quickly since everything is pre-wired, so the 1/8" NPT and running cables/wires is all the remains, though it'll still take me a full day because I'm anal like that... and I want a discreet yet easy to remove/hide install way more than I want a few extra hours to do other chores. I just became aware of the carbon build up problem on our cars and have been researching meth injection. Some of the articles claim up to 30% horsepower increase on diesels with 50% meth mix. But never exceed 50%.
I still have some basic questions – will a meth setup void any extended warranty? I run meth on a 400 hp Mitsubishi and have it set so it starts spraying at 12 lbs of boost. I only use one nozzle placed right after the turbo. On our diesels a.) How much is the stock boost? B.) Do you set the meth unit up the same way to start spraying at say 50% boost? This thread mentions using two nozzles – why and where are they placed? Here is the goody. I am running a DTUK chip on my diesel, I am guessing it is pushing about an extra 40hp. Can you run the meth and the chip at the same time? Will the tranny hold? John 2011 335D black on black msport all options except split rear seat. |

I run about an 800 ml nozzle at 50/50, no trans issues so far over probably close to 30k miles.
30% is very doubtful as most of us have them set up. Maybe possible with a big nozzle and 75/25. Stock boost is around 26 PSI The reason for running two nozzles would be to run a small one for a mileage and CBU cleaning nozzle which is spraying frequently and then one big one for power. |

I'm running a 60 & 625 nozzle. At the moment I get a lot of quench around the set point for the larger nozzle, and I think it's due to how they are positioned in the tube - about 90 degrees from each other.
Max boost I've seen is 29psi.
