275 35 will get you some chunkier look but without neg camber n rolling guaranteed to rub even wit conservative drop on springs. Also tyre brands make a big difference too as the side walls have a smoother thinner profile while michelins and yokos have taller walls. Falkens, nittos and toyos generally have best walls to allow some offset and drop stances. I think go for falkens 265 30 19 go max camber on stock arms and roll. If it still rubs then consider shaving. Jus my opinion. Good luck

I got talked into the Falken 453's by a tire salesman, and I regret it every time I hit peak boost.
They're not real performance tyres, regardless of what the salesman tells you. Don't make the same mistake I did! |

Can I presume that shaving the guards refers to slicing off a portion of the lip on the guard?
I have just put some 220 rims from an M3 on my E92. Have had the guards rolled but still scrubbed very badly so I went back to 255 from 265 to stop the worst of it. It only scrubs now on a moderate bump or where there the suspension crosses up as you go across a change in road angle. I would like to get rid of the scrubbing but am loathe to take a knife to the car or to open the wallet enough for coilovers. Any thoughts? |

Picking the right offset rim is everything. I have 265's on some rims that scrub, then i have other rims with 275's and there is heaps of clearance, could easily go 295's. get your offset right

Long story short, I ended up shaving, rolling adjust camber to make it all work. I think you will need to do the same DRJ but you won't know for sure until its done

Ozzy tyres suggested this but I was hesitant as I didn't want to muck around with the wheels. This was just me i didn't trust it.

Well unfortunately the car wasn't quite ready for collection today, had a few niggly issues that need sorting out and unbeknownst to me I was missing a few headlight rear levelling sensor brackets that are M3 specific that the 335i items cannot be retrofitted... Oh and also the car ride height is way too low for my liking and needs to be raised another 15-20mm (yup I'm getting old!)
I had asked Pete to take the 313M rims off so I could send them to their new owner, and he wacked a set of spare rims on. The spare rims were a set of black 220M rims that co-incedentally are the same size as the 359M's I'm fitting to the car. With M3 spec tyres it looks ridicoulous, the rear guards are practically sitting on the tyre (m3 tyres are 275/35 R v's 275/30 335i fitment and front 245/40 vs 245/35) The pics dont look too bad but its a lot worse in person! Looking at some pics the dunlops look a lot squarer than MPSS: I'm hoping that with 335i spec tyres (30 series v's 35) being a lot less taller, and also adding some ride height will be enough. All the research I've done indicates no-one can run M3 spec tyres on their E92's. This guy runs 265/30 tyres with no guard rolling: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...7#post11785047 our aussie member 335i-boy has rep M359's with a 275/30 albeit his offsets are +38 v's my +25... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=750261 With the PSS on AG M359's, 275/30/19 ET38 & 235/35/19 ET35 lowered on H&R sports I only experience very minor scrubbing on the right rear. It is not scrubbing on the guard, it is just touching the inner fender lining. There is hardly a witness mark on the tyre from where it rubs the fender liner, you only just hear it over large bumps. There is no rubbing on the left rear at all. I have a few options. 1. The guards had been rolled yesterday by nelson at sydney guard rolling. I can fit up one of the rear tyres to the rim when i get them back from the paint shop and drive down to advan for a test fitment. If it fits, all good (but hey nuthin aint ever this easy...) 2. Look at pulling the rear guards and cutting the guard liner 3. Machine 3-4mm from mounting face of rim hub: Not keen on this option, as I may scratch my freshly painted rims... 4. Unfortunately the nitto NT05's dont come in a 265/30 19 to give me that stretch I may need to fit. So I may have to ditch them and run goodyear F1's again as they 100% fit: This owner has 265/30 goodyear F1's on rolled rear guards with no scrubbing So this is definitely a proven option! I know E90's have bigger guards this guy has 275/30 semi's on his 359M's http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=709681 FWIW this guy has Morr 8.2s 19x10et35 19x8.5et35 285/30/19 255/35/19 Here are the differences in tyres sizes: Dunlop sport max M3 spec tyres: 275/35 19" 675.64 mm rolling diameter 276.86 wide Nitto NT05 275/30 19" 647.95mm rolling diameter 272.03 mm wide M3/335i fitment difference 27.69mm difference in rolling diameter & 6.86mm in width. The difference in radius would equate to 13.84mm in height (almost 14mm lower hence why the rear looked way too low as the tyre filled any gap right up - with 335i spec tyres may only need jacking up 5-10mm vs 25mm that it looked like it needed with m3 spec tyres on saturday) 3.43mm in width. Not a great deal but an extra 4mm of clearance is something! Looking at the tyres unmounted they have a nice curve to them so strictly being semi's dont have a typical square sidewall nittos generally have some stretch. Sorry for the big arse post, thought this may be hand for future reference in case anyone is seeking fitment with m3 rims/tyres Last edited by DR-JEKL; 08-30-2015 at 07:36 AM.. |

Nice post DrJ. Just for the record my set up is 265/30/19 on the rears with a +25 offset with yoko avdans. On a pretty aggressive drop. No rubbing at all. In fact I added 5mm spacers to push the rims slightly. Moral is 265 should fit perfect. I'll add some pics
