I've had a trunk sub setup and SWS-8s. Stock L7 woofers with more power sound better. They distort less and don't have any boominess to them. Not that I had boominess with the trunk sub setup. The only reason why I took out the trunk sub is because I care more about handling performance now and it was just extra weight (about 50-60lbs with enclosure/sub/amp) They won't put out the amount of bass the former 2 would, but it's a great improvement over the stock configuration.

You should listen to the L7 woofers driven by 100w RMS. Sound is good and well defined. A small peak at 100Hz but nothing to complain about. I high passed mine at 87Hz and have them wired in reverse polarity to the front stage which gives much better mid bass transition. A single 10 in a corner enclosure completes the deal from 60Hz down. Love the bass and mid bass with Zero 7, The Police, and Led Zeppelin II with this setup. Also Mannheim Steamroller Fresh Aire sounds amazing.

Dudes also think they have 1500 watts, when in reality your Walmart amps say max and not rms (there's a difference!).. And to dig even further, if you dyno'd the amp you'd be a very lucky man to see it make over 200 RMS.

I also agree with the above disagreement... An actual 500 watts of rms on two sound ordnance 12's in a bandpass (can be seen or had on crutchfield) can shake your chit something fierce. Could be a grocery list of things wrong with your system.. Ohms, bad grounds, bad wiring set up, misleading advertising on the box that your amp came in...

He either isnt as loud as he thinks he is, or he has sound deadener throughout.

With my 2 10s giving out competition level dbs, you was able to elinimate rattles in the trunk, but not throughout the entire car completely. But it took a decent amount of deadener to do that.

No offense, but there are a lot of guys out there that think their system is "loud" but until you go to a comp and get on a meter and actually hear some of the high db systems, you have no idea.

Id been doing car audio db comps for years up until the last couple, and every competition, there would be 1-2 guys show up with their system, say they are hitting 150+, then get blown away.

I had a pair of 12s off a 3500watt amp set a MECA unofficial record at 153.xx at the headrest. Same pair of 12s would pull 155s in the kick and 153-154 at the dash. At those levels, your eyes are rattling and everything is blurry.
