I'm not well versed when it comes to the periodic table,I'd have to look it up but the weather in Kc in the summer is hit and miss.Usually it's mid/upper 80's to 90's but can be a scorcher above 100 sometimes. We've had the craziest winter this year since I've been here (lived here since 96').It was 68 today and will be back down to 42 on Friday.I'm just hoping the spring weather is upon us when I take delivery of my new ride next friday.

I don't know about you but I can NOT wait until next week to pick-up my new ride! Our "winter" has been crazy-one day its 90 and then we pick up a cold-front and it's in the 50's for a few days, then rain, then the heat returns. I personally like cold weather so I'm obviously in the wrong state. Do you think the "new car preparation" that some of the detailers in this forum discuss is necessary? They feel that the "detailers" at the dealerships do a lousy job and don't pick up all the dirt and dust off the paint.

I was referring to the "detail job" your local dealership will perform before they give you the car. The level of quality and care given to our new cars is questionable. For example, clay is recommended to rid the paint of dirt and debris. Maybe its taking it a bit far, but considering what we are paying for our cars it might be worth the investment?

Yeah, you're right.I'll tell you though,I bought a 98' M3 from this same dealer and picked it up and I could have sworn it was a brand new car! They did an outstanding job and this was a used car! I just hope the quality of the detail is the same this time around, and good luck with yours.I hope they do a great job. |

![]() My car arrived on the FALSTAFF in Port Hueneme, CA last Monday night. I learned some of the techniques for tracking these vessels, so during my wait, I've been posting some updates on other threads from time to time to help out. For you, I would estimate 4-5 days at the VPC, then either 1-2 days to Miami, and probably a day or so for you to pick up your car. So there may be a chance you'll get your car by next weekend. |

Of course, there are many variables to all of this, mainly due to the processing time at the VPC. This depends on the number cars to be processed, how backlogged they are, and whether you have any options ordered for your car that would be installed at the VPC (e.g. Aero Kit). If your sales associate doesn't contact you by Tuesday this week, I'd call to get another update. He/she can find out the estimated exit time from the VPC and/or the trucking schedule. |

My dealer seems confident my car will be avaliable for pick up on next Friday, I have my doubts, I think probably the following Monday or Tuesday. Of course, my dealer in East Tennessee if fairly close to the VPC. Now if only I can get my trade in out of the body shop with its new front bumper and hood from the accident I got into last week. Why,why did that lady have to pull out in front of me, and how much of a loss in value will I incur? My car is due out of the body shop next Wednesday or Thursday and the dealer says it will problably only hit my trade about $800 which I can probably get back from the ladys insurance since Tennessee is a diminished auto value state. Either way, Im getting the BMW.
I shouldnt wish my life away, but I wish it were this time next week. |

Does anyone know if I can add the rear power sun-shade from the VPC? I forgot to order it and it seems most people like it. BTW, whats your opinion about this option being that I live in sunny South Florida? Thanks again Jerry and RYAN.

Sorry, but I don't think this can be ordered outside of the factory. My wife twisted my arm to get this, but now I'm glad she did.

Sweet! Thanks again Jerry for the info and updates. Btw, I was told that my dealership could install the rear power sun-shade? Anyways, I'm happy that i will be driving my new ride very soon! Please keep us all up to date if possible.
