I don't think the opinions and decisions of those on this board are indicative of Dinan's success. This is an enthusiast board, so people will naturally gravitate towards the highest power tunes with the most features.

Where Dinan will sell a lot of tunes is in the the real world, where name recognition, and reputation for quality (and a good word from one's local BMW dealer) is more important than raw power.

I really had no doubts it would be a popular tune, I wouldn't be surprised if it is or will be the most popular tune on the market when it's all said and done. I would also think that the vast majority of Dinan owners don't know there is anything else out there in the tuning market.

I thought about it but 2k for a leased vehicle was just more than I wanted to go for an ECU upgrade.

Not only have I seen a trend in more Dinan flashes, but more and more people are deciding to go with the JB and SSTT tunes.

All three tunes seem to deliver great power and no hassle.

There used to be a time when in the Forced Induction section where you would scroll down the page and all of the threads would be: Procede, Procede, Procede, Procede, Procede, Procede.
Agreed, I know 8 local guys who have the flash (none post here). I expect Dinan has already sold a few thousand flashes, with minimum associated warranty cost. For the time being, the flash is turning into a cash cow.

As a SSTT owner, why would your start this Dinan thread? I find it a bit strange.

As a Dinan owner, I am not interested nor concerned with how the SSTT is selling. Should it be a concern of mine? Does it satisfy some sort of Freudian need?

Because I was so close to getting the flash. I even organzied a group buy in my area. I went to my local Dinan dealer ready to do it and he told me I had to wait a week for him to get a new flash card from Dinan. That week turned into two and eventually three. All that time gave me time to think. I sorted out my priorites and decided go with SSTT instead. The $1500 I saved, I put towards my mortgage. Most would agree that was a smart move. At least from a financial point of view.

BTW I'm very happy with my SSTT. Broke Traction in 2nd at about 5000RPM. You should have seen the smile on my face.
