They look ok as side marker on the fenders though.
1. Bellofs are not availiable in the USA yet.

2. I'm not worried, if they don't fit, I'm sure Mod Bargains will take care of it.

You make a good point.... except not everyone can build a solution like you
() Furthermore, I'm not sure exactly how bright I would really want the licence plate lights... the 5-0 doesn't need any help Any chance you're selling your licence plate build or have a DIY I missed? I'll get/build one of those too and then compare

yea, for myself, i would like the brightness to be similar to the stock led license plate lights found on the 2008 e9x's.

some of my friends have the 12 led panels from bavauto. looks nice, but too bright for me.

Just don't want you to keep your hopes to high and get disappointed like I did.....

For the Bellof, not true if you have the right hook ups. I have seen a website selling Bellof HID kits out of Vancouver. They can probably hook you up with some. My wife bought mine for me through a shipping service in Japan and I now have 2 sets sitting in my room waiting to go into my E92.

As for returns, I'm not sure about their return policy on open items, so I can't comment on it. However, these DEFINITELY don't work in the plate light housing and the light output is crap comparing to newer LEDs. You need a 42mm festoon bulb with built in resistors, or you can retrofit the '08 plate lights, which has already be done.

Why not just get the OEM ones - the ones that come stock with the 2008's. Don't know how much they are, but I'd give Tischer a call... I'd say 90 bucks is a bit much for 90 cents worth of LEDs. That's just insane...

The stock ones are the same halogen. Went to the dealer to get some and nothing is special about the license plate bulbs.

Yes the 2008's have LED's. But I hear you have to mess around with the wiring, and I don't want to risk messing up. I would rather have a plug and play scenario.

I just like the look of the 08's. I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone, so cops aren't really a problem. If I happen to get a ticket from a task force trooper from out of town, I still know the judge and he will dismiss it for me. LOL. Anyways, If anyone knows if these piaa's are in fact error free, i would appreciate it some info.

PIAA License Plate LEDs Installed

I finally got around to installing the PIAA LED License Plate Bulbs (#19325). I have an '06 e90 and heard the other LEDs out there threw errors so I opted to try this one. In short...it works, no errors! They're a bit expensive but I got them off eBay for $60. The kit includes a resistor that you need to attach to each side of the bulb (one wire per side). Here're some pics - enjoy:

So from the looks of it, this wasn't plug-and-play right? I honestly would've tried the other LEDs out there first that had resistors built in them (i.e. Ziza)

i can agree with James, this doesnt look very plug and play, there is new led technology now, where resistors are built in the housing (just buy the housing, brightest right now is 18-LED), definitely plug and play

+1, there are better choices out there now.

The 6 LED Nichia High Flux LED are freaking bright.

The BEST led's for the license plate out there are the m-force design ones. They are amazingly clean white and very bright. Also absolutely no error's. Ive tried them all except piaa's.

Cool, I'll keep that in mind if these ever go out. So the m-force ones also work on a '06 e90? I had a tough time finding any that won't throw an error on this model.
