Did you change the downpipe to exhaust gasket as well? The clamp has its own gasket so it'll be 2 gaskets per downpipe one on each side.

today, i replace ledges and camshaft from exhaust and... nothing changes. Knocking presists.
![]() i think this ticking make piston when it relocated in upper point. on idle we have 600rpm. 600/60=10 - rotation per second crankshaft. Each cylinder need 2 rotation crankshaft for the igntion. 10/2 = 5 5- this is count of igntion persecond in each cylinder. I recorded sound of this tick, and count in audioeditor how much time in second i hear it sound. It happened 5 time in second. It very similar to ignition in one cylinder. I think it piston ![]() sorry bros for my english. i hope you understand me. Last edited by Zef; 08-22-2017 at 10:51 PM.. |

I would have said it was your lifters, but you replaced them all.
I'm not too keen on the oil you are using. Perhaps do an oil flush & try motul 300v 5w-40. Also put in Liqui Moly ceratec. Liqui Moly also makes a top notch oil flush. The motul & ceratec should quite it down a lot. If not, you should look into an exhaust leak. |

Mate ive had another listen to your vids and im positive my car has the same sound. Ive found one other guy who had the EXACT same sound, he also replaced everything trying to fix it and nothing worked. He ended up tracking the sound to the oil pickup and replaced the oil pump and that fixed it.
He reported that his started a day after doing spark plugs and a walnut blast. I had a walnut blast and plugs done the same day i noticed my sound for the first time. Here is the thread. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1182841 I would do what he has done and see how you go. |

Im not going to replace anything, havent sought a professional opinion yet. It doesnt affect performance so I've just left it for now, wait until i work out exactly what it is before i replace anything.

![]() Aren't you worried your oiling isn't up to scratch and you'll do damage ?

if the tensioner messed up you would hear more of a slapping noise as the chain would slap against the guides. that sounds like injectors chuffing or tappets. if it was chuffing you would have a slight loss in power . Do another oil change but this time use 10w40 and see if it gets quieter.

Ive done an oil change, fresh injectors and sparks. Though my oil was changed to a high grade 0w40, was a 5w30 before that, same noise.
I cant just go replacing everything in sight chasing a tap, you do that with these cars and you are dropping 5k. It doesnt sound like knock to me so im not too stressed. Also, i noticed it THE start up after i had work done inc a blast and plugs, so id say its related. |

today talked about our knocking with the head of the service official dealer BMW in my city.
He said - it can be HPFP or oil pump. guys, MJ80 and Aus335iguy, you you already changed HPFP before? |
