It could be that its because we have a heavier flywheel or that the M3 revs come down faster or whatever however we also think that the TCU is programmed with a diff ratio since people who have tried different diff ratios in the past have gotten errors. The guy thats put the shifter in and flashed says that he has no errors relating to wheel speed so...... It's a mystery.

I bought a shifter for 100 bucks(i stole it as hotsd says) but he has others and at that sort of price its worth a crack because everything else is coding ie free if you have a laptop and that way inclined.
Probably due to the different final drive ratio.
It would be difficult to mechanically fix that. Maybe when you guys crack the programming you could reprogram the blipping. It would be a real downer if the downshifting wasn't perfect because that's half the fun of DCT
The final drive is the most likely cause but how bad could it really be? Couldn't be worse than my heal-toeing when i had a manual lol

Ive just bought the shifter and im doing a trial run tonight so ill let you know. The one guy that did it in the states isnt too forthcoming with information about what coding he had to do so im going to document it and share rather than horde it. This needs to be public so people can smash some records.
I too bought a shifter off of Ebay. Spent $140 on it (US).

Are you also replacing the center console surround (along with DriveLogic buttons?).

Haven't decided yet. Might wait and see what needs to be done and what's required first.

Just downgraded my DCT software from 8606070 to 7624214 today.
It wasn't without hiccup and there was many a moment of "oh f*ck".. have i bricked it??

My purpose is purely experimental to compare versions while i have the v41 daten files loaded.

To do it, follow the steps for the DME software downgrade here: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1259232

Do not do it without a charger connected, laptop charger connected and some balls.

It took me almost 50mins so it is nowhere near as fast as flashing within the same daten file (if that is the right term, because you are forcing WinKFP to flash something it knows is not supposed to occur).

It will do about 5 sequences - two long and 3 short. The long ones will sit at 0% for a while. The ignition will cut out by itself but your fuel and oil temp guage will stay active.
WinKFP also crashed at 100% the first time like the other thread described. Follow through with his directions.

Calibrations are not lost by flashing the software.

Observations:
- Less jolt between gears in M/S. The jolts would usually cause the traction control to kick in and cut power. It could actually chirp the tyres sometimes
- Hardly any difference in normal D mode

Shit just got real

Infinitely adjustable launch control via MHD flash and documented M3 GWS swap and M3 diff ratios have all happened and been announced today.

A tuner has also explained how make anti lag at launch RPM. 12PSI at launch sound good?

90ms shifts and launch at whatever revs you want with anti lag

DCT FTMFW!!!

DSC on when it happens. Maybe my box is tired but it seems to run better up and downshifting manually with the v41 software. The jolts due to sloppy shifting was not even in sport mode. If it was, it would be acceptable

I'm struggling to get my NCB back after several years of lousy luck.

DCT swaps might be the GO.

AT -> M3 DCT. I'm down for that.
