Well to me the Vorsteiner kit looks more like its just a sticker, and not even a overlay over oem trim. But lets just say it is. In any case the cost of carbon fiber alone i wouldnt think would negate the mark up this kit. And then theres the cost of the machine to for dry vacum manufacturing. I am sure thats not cheap. But in all adding all these costs up its way to much. I'll be going with the EAS one and saving my money to put it some place else into my car.

You really have to see this kit in person. It is different and noticeably better then the BMW one as well as EAS. The price is still complete BS though.

I know a guy that used to do the exact same thing Vorsteiner did. Get OEM trim and overlay it with carbon fiber. Sure its not dry carbon but the trim fitment was obviously perfect since its overlayed on OEM and the clear coat never yellowed. I remember him selling it for E90's for around 5....600 for the set. And he also sold them for the e46. if only i could convince him to make it for the e92's

A lot of people would have bought the vorsteiner one to save some money because OEM was way too expensive, but who would want vorsteiners trim now if its $1000 more then OEM. I sound like a Vorsteiner hater but in actuality my whole car is vorsteiner lol. They royally fucked up this time.
+1
Lawrence's words of wisdom hahha
I talked to jason about wrapping the OEM CF trim and he said he would ask the guy. Im assuming the guy he asked and your buddy are the same person.
but jason told me hes not doing it =[
so i guess im waiting for the EAS one, or suck it up and get the OEM.

-Overlay OEM with CF, and do it right, otherwise it won't fit properly (expensive, but perfect quality)
-Make ABS injection molds of each part... est. investment about $100K +
-Make fiberglass molds and have parts that don't fit perfectly, like the stuff we USED to sell for the E46, but had to ditch because of problems.

Which option would you have chosen?

sry, but BMW have a real CF interior trim! you can see it at the BMW Performance Catalogue.

and i think no aftermarket CF trim is better than the OEM BMW. OEM have the best fittment.

Given that the Vorsteiner trim IS based on OEM trim, fitment will be identical.

I've heard a couple members now, Kev ^ being one of them, say that the OEM CF Trim takes like 2 months to get here from Germany so perhaps the Vorsteiner trim will be a good option for those who are impatient

So you would save what like 72 hours compared to OEM ? All Vorsteiner items are made to order and takes at least 6 weeks to make.....

Also, the trim was out of stock in Germany so that's why it took so long. Usually they stock it over there.

Let's find some one in Boston that would shell out the 3600 to get the Vor trim. Then, we can compare them head to head.

I have seen it at bimmerfest and got a chance to inspect it closely. I have seen several bmw CF trims before as well (M cars). Vorsteiner looks a lot better, thats all I have to say.

Hey Bill thanks for your PM. When ever you are ready let's wrap your Carbon Fiber fabric trim pieces.

I think the CF vinyl fabric wrap looks way better than the clear coated carbon fiber kits. Ever since the new M3 came out with it's carbon leather trim, the shiny clear CF seems outdated to me now.

I don't get it, people are willing to shell out $1,900 for the CF trim? That's a lot of dough.
