The newest airbag I have seen is shown in post 22.

FYI I upgraded my steering wheel and bag on an E46 and E91 and both were replaced under recall with no questions, simply done.

That airbag looks like this to me. so is it safe to assume this is a revised airbag unit?

No idea if it is safe. They could be airbags that have been superseded by a revised part number. Things change often with this recall. I can sell you the used airbag in post 22 and paddle wheel. I have the VIN from the donor car that shows no open recalls. PM if interested.

3 of my cars got yellow sticker interim airbags in 2016. 2 still show no current recalls. The E88 recently got a final white sticker airbag during a 2nd recall. We can loosely assume that all the yellow interim airbags will be replaced as supply permits.

This air bag is shown as PSDI-5 AIR BAG and IS PART OF RECALL as stated in the Owner 16V-071 Recall Letter referenced above.

Same here. I swapped stock for a used wheel/bag from an X1. Add this recall to the PCV one.

I can confirm that my swapped Sport airbag was just replaced with a new one under the latest round of recalls.

Thanks for sharing. I'm in the same situation and the dealer rejected the airbag recall when I was there for the blower motor wiring and PCV heater fuse recalls. Now they're calling me back for the airbag

Yeah, I was rejected a couple of years ago, but this round they are replacing any recalled airbag.
I think for only the steering wheel airbag, it should only take them 30 mins. Even the service advisor before told me that if BMW would allow them to change it, it only takes them 10 mins to do.
