We have had so few units that have been defective, however I would definitely get the dealer you purchased it from to either swap it out for a new one or simply get a refund. If the dealer is not on E-bay at the moment, I understand there is a way to get a refund through E-bay or your credit card. I would be very happy to offer you a sale price on a unit that will work perfectly in your vehicle. Just let me know and we can set that up for you. We have sold so many SSTT's now that its completely impossible to keep track of who has the units. In some cases people have sold used units as new on ebay etc. Always a safer bet to purchase from an authorized Eurobahn dealer or directly from our web site. Thanks, Jeff Eurobahn |

Also the idea of disconnecting the negative battery terminal is not a bad idea either! You might try to do that prior to returning the unit. Also do you go to any of the socal get togethers? I would like to see what the car is doing.
Thanks, Jeff Eurobahn |

To Split Second and/or representatives -- think Nordstrom
You have a very strong reputation. Why not offer to inspect the unit and assess whether it works properly on a bench? If it seems to be a genuine case of failure (not some ebay scam), make some reasonable offer to repair/replace/discount, etc. Just my 0.02. |

So far the seller isn't responding to my emails. Will try again, but not optimistic. You know how things go sometimes. I took the SSTT off my car and it's definitely faster now. And I'm not asking for any $$ back, just a swap-out is all.
Are you guys sure this isn't something with version 30 perhaps? Also SSTT got back to me and they seem to recognize Creative Motoring in AZ as a valid dealer. But again they told me that it's between me and them, not SSTT; which legally I can kind of understand I guess. |

damn, I would think the maker would atleast see if his unit is defective or w/e....it's like saying you're not the original buyer so we won't uphold the warranty? lame.

I too have an 07 and I got my SSTT a year ago from "eBay Member: need4speedmotors".
It has worked flawlessly. I love it, sometimes removing it to sleep with me on my pillow. Having said that, if I don't see a SSTT v2 soon, I may try the JB3 and put mine back on ebay. Why? Because HP is like crack of course. |

Down with Split Second and SSTT.
I'm sorry, this is ridiculous. I don't suggest split second should do anything under warranty -- that's a different issue. However, they should offer customer support. Virtually any electronic product has some sort of repair depot for non-warranty claims that swap the product with a refurb or repair for a reasonable cost compared to the original. I don't care about the internals of SSTT. Its always seem modest and successful and simple for hte cost. They've had a good reputation here and elsewhere. This is a shock - a minor issue and they don't even investigate. Serious product companies need to know all failure modes experienced to the extent possible -- that alone should motivate them to investigate. Customer service and reputation is another. Split Second -- WAKE UP P.S. I don't own a tune, just hate seeing this... Last edited by BmwFanFL; 07-25-2008 at 12:56 AM.. Reason: added P.S. |

Talk to Jeff at Eurobahn. He is a great guy and I am sure he will help you out. Jeff has spent a lot of time on the phone with me patiently addressing even the most obscure SSTT issues. Unlike some other vendors, Jeff seems to always place the customer first. If your SSTT doesn't work, perhaps Eurobahn will swap it with a new one. I am sure they don't want malfunctioning units being used. The SSTT is a great product and when you install a working unit you will love it.

To original Poster!
Since you are not able to contact the original seller, please email me at
Jeff@Eurobahn.us. I would like to pickup the unit in question and run some tests on it to see what might be up with it. At the same time we can arrange a new unit to go into the car so you can drive and enjoy the tune! We will work with the dealer who sold it to you if we can find him once we have determined what may have happened to the device. The most important thing is to get you back on the road!! If you are going to be near Irvine tomorrow morning early, come on by Cars and Coffee by the Spectrum. Jeff Eurobahn www.eurobahn.us |

i was goin to recomend running with another fully adapted sstt and check the difference... but jeff's idea sounds a lot better.... +1 for awesome customre service...
to the op... i have had my sstt for 17000 miles and haven't been disappointed once...there is a considerable power difference even at lower RPMs... i have had one limp mode incident which was probably due to a heat wave that i we had here recently... the limp mode went right away as soon as i turned it off and back on again... i think the sstt is one among the best products out there....
