No, E46 is right. There are infact two styles of jacks for the E46.

As I said, there are two types. Original equipment style like the one the E46 came with from the factory. Works perfectly and fits without any issues. The second type is a generic one they sell you for BMWs, and that is the Y-type that wont be a perfect fit on the E92. I had my E46 for 6 months along with my E92, before I sold it and had to go get a set for my E92, so trust me on this one I know what I am talking about. Tischer parts had both variations and they are infact different. Just make sure to ask specifically for the Original one that was for E46. Its smaller too and fits in the small story hole in the truck with space to spare.

I only take the spare if I am going long distance, and only in winter.

Also, to the OP, any response as to what caused the tire to blow out like that -- and how fast you were going? I thought these things were supposed to hold up; even during semi-aggressive maneuvers with zero pressure (i saw it on the RFT video demonstration in the dvd bmw sent me).
My summer set are the original ZSP run flats. Winters are non-run flats.

AH!
you're talking about the tool kit.

i thought you meant the spare tire kit. the spacer ref was for the compact spare tire for the E46.

the E60 spare tire kit has an OE "E46" style jack
