It so happens that I have a bunch of VW parts in the driveway. Two cars worth, in fact.

The cars have been reliable, pleasant to drive and well worth every penny that I paid for them. As for the parts themselves, I find them to be well engineered and manufactured.

VW makes good cars. Audi makes good cars (and had there been a reputable dealer near me I would own one now). BMW makes good cars. And to tell the truth so does everyone else in 2008. It is a matter of finding the vehicle whose function, tradeoffs and price point fit your needs.

The A5 is beautiful but I was disappointed with how large the car felt in person. Its huge! I just wanted to hit command+t and scale the whole thing down 15% on the dealership floor. Audi does make fantastic interiors there is no doubt about that. As you say though, the car is just not sporty enough

Perhaps Audi's financing bar is a lot lower than MB, BMW, and Porsche.

I actually see far less new Audis than BMWs around me. Audis have gotten very expensive IMO.

I think its because BMW offers more aggresive lease deals than Audi. At least they did about 5 months ago.
