Yeah it reads generic codes, but also the BMW specific codes also. I spoke with their tech and he said that this winter or early next year the 08 BMW specific enhanced interface will be ready and you will be able to read DME codes.

Strange, my little Innova 3030 reads the BMW codes just fine. At least in my friends (plural) e46 330ci's it did. Several times. This dumb thing outputs a P code just fine--you have to look up what it means on the 'net. Usually by haunting some BMW tech forum where someone has put up a BMW-specific list....
