Photoshop!? These are custom painted!

JKJK, Planning to see if I can do this with vinyl as a proof of concept. But hey, need the car first. lol.

On the left is the eBay/Amazon sourced 68mm "replica" hubcap (still wrapped in protective plastic), and on the right is the OE BMW 56mm clearly marked on the box as for wheels with the 112mm bolt circle. Note the proportions of the m-color semi-circles versus the size of the BMW emblem. If anyone finds a part number for the 68mm OE parts, please post it here.

Your saying these are both supposed to be for wheel caps? Ive def learned for the most part, dont by emblems from Amazon. Ebay can be good as long as you really know what your looking for.

Colors do seem off as well as thickness like you pointed out.

I saw a bunch in person yesterday at a dealer based cars & coffee. They are nice looking in person, but I'd still prefer the traditional version on my cars.

Colors are a perfect match, once you remove the plastic protector. The larger cap is for the earlier wheels with the 120mm bolt circle. I bought two sets. One set came with front and rear emblems and steering wheel emblem. That's 7-pieces for $29. I don't have any car that takes the smaller OE ones but I'm sure I won't have a problem finding someone local who just has to have them!

Here's the large one on my E82 (pardon the dirt, it's been raining every day!):

That's problematic. I received it from Amazon within two days of ordering and once I opened the package and saw the quality, I went on-line to duplicate the order only to find Amazon had removed the item and the seller! You don't suppose BMW had a hand in that, do you??

I do have this hubcap set arriving tomorrow, for comparison purposes. Appears to be exactly the same product. Two-day free delivery.

they look good on a classic vintage BMW from the era when those were used—-they look absurd on a modern BMW, imo.

The problem is that BMW doesn't offer them as parts in the USA. And, until someone corrects me, they don't offer them at all for the larger 120mm-bolt-pattern wheel. And, to top off your suggestion, I've twice ordered black "M5" emblems for customer cars from our BMW parts department and they came in directly from BMW NA's local depot in OE bags with both German and US part labels. Both indicated "Made in China". So, where is your "peace of mind" now?

I am also selling 1 new full set (1x 82 mm front, 1x 74 mm trunk emblem, 4 wheel caps of 56 mm), please pm me for more info.

Please note that this is not OEM BMW, but quality is very similar to OEM.

For me the original is the best of them all. I like the basic BMW style. After all it's the badge of the car I sought to own. Would I change the Mona Lisa's smile to a wide open mouth white teeth showing bellow....nope.
To me this is the signature of the car. And imo you don't change signatures mid life.
This new design is nice but but takes away the heritage of the brand. Sorry old school thought's I guess.
For me classic brands that have won their place should leave their logo's alone.
Really in todays world many companies are bringing back their old fonts or styles of logo's to show they know a few things. I like that.

I hate to correct you, but the 50th Anniversary roundel is an update of a 40+ years old roundel BMW used in motor sports. It is not a new design.

LMAO That "badge of a car you sought to own", was not originally on M cars and was later introduced in 1993, replacing the 1972/3 original badge. The heritage roundel badge it's not a new design. Personally, I think it looks great and it's a good tribute to the BMW M 50th year anniversary.

I see. I didn't know that. I've never followed M sports stuff.
Sorry to have to correct you now, but most of the world doesn't know that or care much. To most of us less informed BMW admirer's BMW has basically one logo. The black, white and blue one.

Even if it's new and old at the same time, I think it's a lot less attractive or even significant.
I wouldn't want it on my car.

Then don't get it.

I agree with others that it looks great. Especially on a white car like mine.

Yeah, he doesn't at all lol But to each their own.
I bet it does look great on a white M5! I saw it on a blustone M5, man it made it pop. I have a 23 dark graphite M5 coming and I can't wait to see how it looks.
