stupid question... but if you failed to stop.... how did they issue you a ticket? can they even prove it was you driving the car? i'm assuming they went off your registration tags.

Yes, they just pulled my info from their system, fill the citation and mail it to me, I guess...

I had the magistrate hearing today. Both the magistrate himself and the state police representative had no idea about the 'failure to stop' charge. I said I always follow the traffic on I90, and they assumed the traffic speed was 70-75mph. So they just offered me reduce the ticket to $100, and they said there shouldn't be any consequence of the 'failure to stop'. I don't want to spend too much time on this kind of shit, so I took the offer and walked out of the court.

PS: Even though there is obvious conflict on my ticket (failure to stop vs. car operator), they just didn't want to dismiss it. I think it might has something to do with the short budget of the government or the police department which was all over the news channels recently. So people drive safe and drive carefully.

good to know you got a reduced fine....did you ask if this will go against your driving record?

I asked, and he said it depends on the insurance company. But I think it's just an excuse and it will go against my record.

Exclamation Ticket in the mail

I got ticket in the mail for $200 few weeks ago. It was for failure to yield on a turn, improper passing and crossing marked lanes?. I was not pulled over, but they had all my information on the ticket. I requested hearing by mail and few days ago I went to the hearing. They read the accusations and than i said to the judge that I received the ticket in the mail and I was very surprised. I did not do any of the violations and as far as I remember, I did not drive my car that day. I also said that this is not the way I drive and I obey all laws when I am driving. The judge dismissed everything -not responsible.

I have never heard of Arbitrary ticketing in Mass. Next time I see a friend of mine who is a trooper I'll ask but this seems soooo fishy to me. I use to live in San Diego where there were Red Light cameras but never a speed camera like they have in Europe. I'm almost positive that an officer has to stop an issue you a citation for any infraction especially in Mass.

i have gotten a ticket in the mail in lexington i appealed it and said multiple people drive the car and i wasn't in that area at the time. I said "how can you give me a ticket if you don't know who the actual driver was" and they looked at each other dumb founded. They dropped the ticket they didn't have proof it was me.

... PS it was deff me lol

Most likely you sped by an off duty cop and he wrote down your plate number and submitted in when he got to work which is definitely bullshit

We are having all sorts of issues here (Jacksonville) with people getting red-light tickets. The surrounding counties are installing cameras all over. I haven't broken down yet but I may have to bust this out… http://www.phantomplate.com/photoblocker.html

Shit…I have a V1 in each car and but Laser is rough…it's always too late. Got hit for 90 in a 70…cop was cool and reduced it to 9 over...
