The tuned 335i also seems to rev more freely especially on the low end but with the C63, the power delivery is continuously massive and really comes alive in the higher RPMs. Like another poster said, this thing is a monster on the highway and really climbs up in speed effortlessly. I can't wait to see what an ECU flash and longtube headers will do for the car.

Exterior wise, I don't think the E92 silhouette can be beat, but the C63 is an attractive, aggressive looking sedan. It's definitely an aesthetic you grow to love over time, with the snarling front bumper and the signature oval quads poking out of the rear diffuser. For the most part, I'm unimpressed by the interior. The only things that seem to stick out as worthy of the AMG moniker are the seats and steering wheel, with the former being superior to the M3 seats. The AMG seats just hug you like racing seats would but don't make you feel cramped at all.

Moreover, the exhaust note of the C63 destroys that of my tuned 335i as well as that of the M3. Downshifting becomes addictive and you never grow tired of the 6.2L V8 growl. Shifting however, does take some time to get used to as it's not as responsive as the paddles on my 335i let alone a DCT transmission on the M3. The tach just doesn't seem as willing to move back and forth as it does on my 335i. Hopefully a tune can address that issue. *Sorry for the long rant guys, just pointing out some of my thoughts on the C63 as someone who also owns a 335i.
Mhm. This is basically what I said.

And in regards to the steering, I couldn't agree more. The 335i's feels more natural, a little heavier, and has a slight deadzone. The C63's is razor sharp, has a quicker ratio, but feels a little artificial (by comparison; it's by no means dead feeling).

In regards to the transmission: downshifting isn't a problem imo. It's the upshifting that takes forever. It's because you can't stack commands.

Yeah. Five minutes of hard driving will cause the needle to drop a tick or two.

Tires last about 6-10k miles. And our car is rarely driven aggressively.
For sure. It beats all of them by far. The thing that bothers me about the car is that you can't tame it. It's just furious and you have absolutely no control. That annoys me. The exhaust is . Handling is getting there, but the car just doesn't seem balanced, it seems like it's working really hard to accomplish it's task, what ever that may be. When I test drove it, I fell in love. I test drove it again about 2 months ago, and you don't seem to have any control over the car. Even with Stability Control, you dab the throttle and you get the yellow warning triangle telling you you're gone too far.

Still doesn't change the fact that I would certainly buy one. I also hate the interior of every Mercedes.

I think the car really needs proper tires to keep traction. In stock configuration, the C63's 235 front, 255 rear width tires are absolutely no match for the torque. I'm going to replace the rears with at least a 265 if not 275 width tire. At some point if I change out the wheels I will try to fit as much rubber as possible under the fenders. Also, I think with a set of KW V3 coilovers this car would really shine on the track. It's just a couple of lagging components that hamper this car on the track IMO.

My cousin is actually in the market for a performance car and he's looking at e90 m3, c63, and IS-F and so far he's fallen in love with the exterior of the m3 and of course the m badge. Test drove his friends m3 and he was impressed but not sold. Went to the Lexus dealer with him and they wouldn't let him test drive an IS-F and instead offered to let him test drive a is250...we looked at him for like 5 secs and left. The c63 is next in his line to test drive but unfortunately i can't be there with him on account of finals. Just curious though, what's the c63 that the m3 doesn't have? What's the m3 have that the c63 doesn't have? Other than exhaust note. Unbiased opinions would be useful

A 6.2L engine. 451HP 460 ft lbs of torque. The C63 has fog lights. I'm too tired to think, someone else please fill in the rest.

Yeah. It's sad that I have bigger rears.

An extra 200-300lbs of weight. 50 more horsepower. A good 150lb-ft more torque. An inferior transmission. Way better seats. A more solid interior.

The car can't reel in all that power. Fun to do burn outs with though.

A friend of mine just bought a C63, I have a 335i for comparison. Words can barely describe the C63 exhaust note...raspy wicked snarl - just rediculous cool and you hear it every second you drive it! He ordered his with the "Performance Package" or something like that >>> adds 2 piece brake rotors, stiffer suspension, higher top speed and LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL. It's a standing rule: we let him leave the parking lot first ---- we all just stand there and wait for him to nail it as he drives away - always forces the biggest grin! Good times

Me too, I'm thinking about widening the rear fenders by 30-40 mm on each side and fitting some 295 or 305s in the back.

The C63 I had was a blast. For personal reasons, the M6 just seemed like the car to have at the moment, but I no doubt miss the thrust of the 6.2 and the barbaric sound. But I made my decision, and so far, I hope I'm right.

I admire the C63 very much, but the current M3 is THE car for me.

Who wouldn't take an M6 over a C63?

If I was in your position I would have made the same choice. As nice as the C63 is, and despite the fact that the M6 has a few years under its belt, there's no denying the fact that the M6 is the superior car.

It has a more upscale interior, and only loses to the C63 in terms of seats. I also like the SMG more, and the V10 rivals the 6.2L V8 imo. I also think the M6 looks ten times more bossin'.
