Hi guys,
Malakai was experiencing technical difficulties. But with Dtc on, he was cutting 2.0 60s. It looks like he was tripping the overboost protection. No datalogs were taken unfortunately. Partly my fault as I never mentioned to him that it should be raised. One of the reasons I wanted first try at taking v4 to the strip. Damn west coast rain. Hoping Saturday is dry....

Thanks for all your help! I added 6 gallons of 100 octane race gas and dropped the ign correction to zero but forgot to raise the overboost limit.. Everytime I shifted it would drop boost and have to build back up. So then I loaded up the 10-9 maps because I thought something was wrong when I did a 13.006 @ 110.6mph and that just resulted in a limp mode halfway through third.. So then I went back to the V4 firmware/maps and it was hitting the overboost limit still..Probably not a good a idea to be switching around maps and firmware between runs though..Right before the track closed I talked with Shiv and he mentioned raising the overboost limit but I didn't have time to make another pass.. Next week I will get to the track earlier and have the car running correctly. The track was well prepped though, I did a 2.051 60ft without much trouble.. I think that with better tires and the car running the correct settings it should trap around 116+mph. I managed to beat a C6 vette, 3rd Gen RX-7, and some other cars even with the car not running properly!

lol guys the 6MT isn't "THAT" hard to drive... you guys act like a car with all those mods can only do a 12.8? I mean I ran a 13.1 @ 106 with just an SSTT, and it was hot outside and I was losing power big time at both high RPM's and towards the end of the run. Now with the AMS FMIC and cooler weather I am convinced I can run a sub-13 second 1/4 mile. Yes on stock runflats. Actually the G35 (assuming it drives like the 350z) is harder to launch. I had 275's on the rear of my 350z (PS2's, Falken Azenis, S03's) and it also had an LSD and it was harder to launch still with all that. I dyno'ed 264 RWHP and 251 RWTQ in that car but due to the crappy suspension (make it low and stiff, don't actually engineer a proper suspension) that thing was a rear wheel spinning nightmare. The 335i has way more power, make the power at lower RPM's, and is running on stock 255 runflats and is WAY easier to launch (and no LSD).

6MT isn't a "floor it and read a book" like the 6AT but it is still very capable with a good driver. And most importantly, really fun to drive

Which track did you go to? Bradenton? They always have amazing track prep there. If you want to see some spinning tires, come to Orlando Spin World....I mean Orlando Speed World.

Ya, I went to bradenton.. I took my g35 to orlando speedway once and was definitely having a lot more traction problems.. Next week when I go to the track I will get there earlier so if I have any issues I can correct them before the track closes..

I was a little upset with myself because i got to the track late and then i wasted $60 on race gas since i couldnt wait for shiv to release the v4 race/meth maps, and i forgot to raise the overboost limit to 18-19psi instead of 16psi.. i was thinking that the race gas screwed up my car at first because it felt quite a bit slower than it did with 93 octane..

didn't shiv recommend you to lower ign cor to 0 with tank full of 100 oct.? if you only added 6 gal., you don't suppose to lower it all the way to 0... no?

I did lower the ign correction to zero, but the problem was that the car was making more boost than it would on 93 octane and I didn't raise the overboost limit from 16psi so it would hit that and then go into valet mode..

Can't wait til I hit the track, waiting on those stage 4 6mt maps with less boost taper.

I noticed that I trapped 91.233mph in the 8th mile on one run and then the car went into valet mode and then the power was gone..finished the 1/4 at 108mph.. Does anyone know what that 8th mile trap speed would have put me at in the 1/4 mile if it didn't go into valet mode?

even with the 6AT maps with all the tapering boost I made my fastest 60-100mph time (4.09s). I really can't wait for the real 6MT maps

When I trapped 113.91 (stage 1, 100 octane), I trapped 91.4 in the 1/8th. So I'd say you'd been at least 116 since you have FMIC.
