I think I read something from ASR about our map sensor only being good for 21 psi or something.

I can't even imagine 19 psi of boost. The car must pull! We're no worthy!

This makes me wonder whats going to happen with the new N55 engine.

Nice numbers by the way.

That's ultimate daily driving machine stuff right there. Can't wait to see how long the shafts on those turbos last, let's hope there are no issues there.

I might be able to get access to one, so hopefully I can do some "legit" timing.

In the mean time I've been adding a time-code to video to count 60-100 times, for instance:

Great numbers JP, really excellent job.

Must feel amazing to drive. I hope my TD upgrades will be similarly exciting! And I'm also interested on how the Procede works with the upgraded turbos, as that's an option I'm considering with mine too, as an alternative to GIAC with whom I'm having some issues right now.

Those logs look very impressive and stable for a finalized tune, let alone an initial tune on an untested upgraded turbos. Very promising.

i also remember the same thing, JP: when you do start to push the boundaries, im curious if you run into the same barrier. let us know if you do run into a maximum psi issue (at the MAP sensor) with limps being induced.

The stock tmap sensor only reads up to 22psi so it's risky to run more than 20-21psi since the maximum readable positive boost error would be limited to just 1-2psi. However, we can simply add an external 2 bar map sensor for $50 that would read up to 30psi of boost. It would only have to be fed into the Procese boost input (simple harness mod) to get it to work. And it would work just fine.

what do you think the max boost would be for turbo upgrade such as JPsimon's?

Hi JP,

Congrats with your succesful upgrade! Your datalogs looks very impressive... and it can only get better! :-)

I just ordered a pair of turbo's myself on Ebay and planning to have them upgraded in the UK.

As my 335 is my daily ride, I was just wondering what a turbo upgrade would do the emmision checks... of course open dp's could cause emmision related troubels.. but I was wondering if the upgrade and all related changes (beside the DP's) would inlfuence emmision output...

With other words, would an engine with upgraded turbo's pass emmision checks?

Anyhow, a lot of fun with your new tweaks and looking forward to your dyno results...

Cheers,

R

i think one should be more worried about their catless exhaust (like I have) vs. the upgraded turbos.

+1

As long as you've got the secondary cats in place and the original downpipes (or DPs with high-flow cats), an upgraded turbo shouldn't be a problem.
