Are they gonna reprogram the DME? Or what is it that they have in store to fix the issue, do you know?

You should get a hold of a BT scanner and scan your car to see if there's any codes........If there's anything that would tell you what codes are present (hidden or shown), BT scanner is it.....
On the second thought, the dealership might already scanned your car and found nothing? If so, then nvm my first comment........LOL

Kuni updated it for me. I spoke with Rob. He was really good about taking care of me.
Call your SA, give him the specific service bulletin, and let him know the 2nd part of that is exactly what want to do. The service bulletin doesn't state anywhere that a code is required for the retrofit. Good luck! P.S. i need to come up and check out your shop sometime. I know you guys have done EVO's forever, and I am excited you are starting to work with the n54 platform! |

They scanned the vehicle and couldn't find any codes. They can feel the issue when driving though, so they are going to keep the car overnight and see if they can figure out a solution.
The problem occurred after the wastegate fix and system update. No rattle, but no power. I would take the rattle any day of the weak then a lean condition at partial throttle around 2500rpms Michael |

Mine wasn't throwing codes either. It was all feel. The retrofit option at the bottom of the TSB is for *after* you have done a wastegate fix. The initial software update to fix the rattle causes lag because it holds the gates open to keep them from rattling at low rpm.
You had hardware replacements, as well as a software update. You should have no rattle if you go ahead and do the retrofit option to restore the wastegate functionality to its prior state. |

It's been the best experience with a dealership so far, the only thing that stinks is they have no say on what they can do unless a code pops up or BMWNA says do this. It's all good, it's just a different process.
We are trying a new HPFP now, hope this works Gary has been great to deal with though, he calls more then my wife and always is very professional. I'm sure Rasmussen offers the same customer service, honestly.. I hope to stay away from dealership/service department after this fix Michael |

The problem right now is no code is popping up and the car is running what seems to be lean between 2500 and 4000. BMWNA received the log and advised to replace the HPFP. Hope this works! I will keep you all informed.
I can't wait to get the 335 back, this 328 is a turd in comparison. It's a great cruiser, but I don't feel much performance. Michael |

OP I had the same problem and pointed out the WG conversion option, but the tech told me it didn't apply. I complained all the way up to the GM and finally today they reprogrammed and initiated the wastegate option again and everything is back to normal.

So... It's not the fuel pump! But the car did finally throw a code for the first time. I don't have the exact code, but it has to do with an intake leak they said. So i'm guessing any type of boost leak. They are running smoke through the intake track to find the leak and I should have an update tomorrow or the next day. It's a long process to remove the intake manifold they say. We will see. So..... No Luck Yet!
But it's not the following HPFP Wastegate Revision / Retro Fit Software Update Hopefully we don't have to add a bunch more to the list, but we will see. Thanks, Michael |

Time to update the list of what it's not.
HPFP Wastegate Revision / Retro Fit Software Update Intake Manifold - They replaced the gaskets and did a smoke test on the intake manifold (No Leaks or Bad Gaskets) Fuel Sample (Good Fuel) Check gas tank for sediment (Good) they are now replacing the complete exhaust system... I dunno, that's what BMWNW said to do. We will see. Next update is tomorrow. Michael |

Man sorry to hear all that. I know how trouble shooting can be a PITA sometimes, I just hope it's nothing too serious.
Have you thought about throwing a PROcede in it to see if it solves the problem? I mean, it couldn't hurt, right?

Exhaust System Replaced, car still acts up. They are now pinching 4 different vac lines and taking it for a drive after each line is pinched to try to pin point the problem. Still Nothing...
No good update yet. I will keep everyone posted. Hopefully no one ever has this issue. Thanks, Michael |
