I atoo am waiting to pull the trigger on one of these tunes. I like the sound of procede but I like the price of JB3 even better! Im stuck! If the procede was just a tad lower it would be a no brainer for me.

We have a lot of customers that are very happy with the JB3. I'd also recommend looking at the cp-e standback - which is currently the only tune that gives you full control via 30x30 maps that are 100% end user tuneable.

I was thinking JB3 because i already had a JB +, but I am highly considering GIAC. All I hear are good things. Good luck with your choice.

Before this turns into another silly flame fest...

OP-- Take the time to drive as many tunes as you can. You'd be very surprised at how differently they all perform and feel. Also, take the time to understand the tuning methodology that each tune uses. And consider the associated costs that each tune will require (bt tool, datalog cable, etc,.) You'll be surprised when you compute the actual "drive away" price differential. It's not much. And it really shouldn't be a huge factor in deciding how to treat your $50k BMW. Besides the obvious power gains, there are issues such as safety, driveability, upgrade-ability and ease of use.

I mentioned earlier that I was in the 12s with a JB3 1.4 and DCI ONLY with 93 octane in my first ever timed drag race. Before this event, I had never launched from raised RPMs - and could have launched better as well...

cp-e's Standback doesn't appear to be plug 'n play - which is why I stopped looking at it.

If you lowered the price of your tune by a couple of hundred dollars, you'd probably have the entire market to yourself - which equates to a lot of money - but probably a lot of customer service as well.

We sell the Procede for $945. Or $200 less if you already have another tune. With the amount of development we constantly pour into it, dropping price more isn't the best idea in the long run. For either us or the consumer. Really, we have $50k cars. And I don't believe in using mickey mouse tunes in them.

I'm not saying the Proceed is a bad deal by any means.. I just figured it must have crossed your mind at least once or twice to have the entire x35i piggyback market to yourself.

I don't want the whole market to myself. Just the well-informed segment of the market

Seriously though, I would argue that we put more R&D into our tunes than anyone else. Lowest pricing is good for some customers. But there is a reason why those products with the lowest price never offer the best performance. They just try to copy what they can. Downplay what they can't. And hope that it takes a while for people to figure it out before selling it, at a loss, for something better. A quick glance at in the classified section shows this dynamic in action.

I'd go with the JB3, DCI, BT package for under a grand.

However, IMO, the Proceed is the best piggy back on the market. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Had JB3, just sent it into you for the trade up special. Thanks man. BTW. I recently drove another PROceed car before I pulled the trigger. I know I've been an A## in some other threads, but, the "smoothness" with the 6mt impressed me. However, I agree with the everyone else, try both before you pay for either.

Sidenote: If someone offers to sell you a JB3 for $300.00 (As I did recently on this forum.) Either take them up for it without asking for a bunch of pix,or, explanations as to why they are selling it for "so cheap". Especially if they are selling through paypal with buyer protection.... I for one was trying to give my fellow forum guys a break. Shiv will be getting the perfectly intact PNP in the end.

It looks like Shiv just promoted the GIAC tune. I agree but I am surprised Shiv does. Clearly GIAC addresses the many limitations of the piggyback tunes.
