ITS FREE!! How is it not worth it!!

My friends noticed it. And the above comments not true. 07 e92 may have a different progman than say a 09 e92 which has newer progman but any e92/e90 can get updated to the latest progman which has been reported it changes exhaust noise levels, wastegate cycles etc etc.

There's 1 solid fact I can give you though, e92 is louder than e90 because e90 has extra resonator.

WOW! Really? Switched back to OEM?
I just unplugged mine for the first time about 5mins ago, went for a very short ride (2mins) and maybe at startup I noticed a bit louder tone but nothing much else...
I guess I'll take it for a longer drive with some highways thrown in before deciding whether to plug it back in.

Yes , but from my experience I found having AR cat-less DPs made a big positive difference to the sound, i.e really came to live as a music to my ears. Specially after approx 6 months driving with DPs + OEM exhaust + "Golf tee" mod. Not sure if it made any difference but I also changed my tips to Cyba single layer quad chrome when I switched back to OEM exhaust.

From my subjective ears I would describe the current sound as tamed but euro exotic & classy for people to notice and compliment. Almost zero drone. Non intrusive inside of the car so you can still talk on blue-tooth hands free.

Got more compliments running this set-up vs when I had AE quad DP back system with HFC + AR DPs.

From my personal experience I found AE with AR cat-less DPs made my 335i Vert sound like an American V8 Muscle car vs German/European fine engineering. Plus it did drone between 1800-2000 RPM with AT at the level that wasn't tolerable for me.

Hmmm that was the direction I was thinking of going... Catless DP's with the stock exhaust and quad tips...
Did you replace your midpipes? So you're catless all the way through? Or did you maintain your stock midpipe and secondary cats?

Maintained my stock midpipes and secondary cats, since OEM exhaust is one piece from where it connects to DPs to rear tips... it's one long single piece exhaust system.

Dp's are the most restrictive so if you get that out of the way, you bascially have yourself a really nice exhaust system. the stock pipes in the exhaust have really nice bends!

Thanks for the info Belarus
I think I just made my decision on the exhaust side of things.
Sounds like a great combo, especially the no drone part...

Happy to help. Keep in mind Golf Tee mod doesn't cost you anything and can be reversed Plus after few months if the sound doesn't live up to your liking and loudness you can always go with after market exhaust later on .

I like the slight extra noise it produces, especially on low throttle input and gurgle at low speed.
Worth the 2 seconds of time.

With out cat-less DPs it's almost unnoticeable. DPs make the sound come alive with Golf Tee

For those that say its not noticeable your just not sensitive to changes in the car.

The most pronounced noise is on the highway there is a slight drone. Not a deafening drone, but a drone nonethless.

I know this because I was in my buddys car who had it done, and I'm like dude why is your car loud on the highway, I cant hear my exhaust, hes like Golf tee mod. I was like "the wut?" lol

Another benefit is both exhaust tips get dirty evenly with soot. As before only the right tip would be dirty.

Ive been cleaning my tips inside and out since day 1 so....

If your not one to clean tips im sure both are just covered in black soot.
