I raced a cobalt ss with similar mods from a dig. My car was stock with only an exhaust.. I pulled about a car length and he hung with me the rest of the way..

The older models were supercharged, beginning in 08(IIRC) they are turbocharged. Like i said, you've got nothing to worry about. It would probably take an upgraded turbo, FBO, TBE and meth to run with SBO+tune N54.

Dude it'll come down to the driver. He's way under weighing you. However, given that rwd usually sticks more, you may be good to go.
I raced one with my civic n pwned his ass lol. Made me laugh all day. Pathetic supercharged and only ran a 14.2 Pffft |

Run Map 5 and let it adapt a few days ahead of time....then, knock his @ss out.

My good friend has a cobalt ss turbo sedan with a tune and no exhaust. I had a jb3 2.0 and dci. From a dig it was a pure rape fest considering I'm awd. From a roll things are much more interesting. I love those little cobalts, they will surprise even a tuned n54 car and shouldn't be taken lightly. I am able to walk from him pretty good now, but I'm FBO and meth so I'd hope I would. Once he mods up and goes with a better Trifecta tune I expect to have stiff competition.

My friend has a turbo SS with mods putting down around what the op listed. they are surprisingly fast, however first and second gears are worthless from a dig. Race from a 50mph roll of you want any sort of competition from him.

Cobalts are cool cars, the fact that it isn't as nice or expensive is irrelevant. It's like a GTR guy being taken down by a single turbo N54 sometime in the future and then taking solace in the fact that you are going home in a 3 series. Give respect where it's due and you look much less like a douche bag.

OP, told you those cobalts aren't to be taken lightly. Your full weight DCI/FMIC JB4 car with a manual at that on Map 1 would trap 109-110 in the quarter mile on a GOOD day. I'm all about rooting for the N54, but I don't think this will be a race in your favor especially from a highway roll. But get it on video and show us! I love race videos.
I regularly race the modded C63's and E63's on an "airstrip" to 160 mph, and my full weight 335i auto with meth+bolt-ons loses by 1 to 2 cars. Consider those C63's and E63's trap up to 9-10 MPH faster than the typical Map 1 N54, so do the math.

Get some E85, mix 1 part of it to 2 parts 93 octane gas, run map 7, will be a better race that way. I personally think Map 1/5 is a slow joke. But hey, that's just me.

Look it up. E85 should be fairly easy to find in Florida.

Jk. If he has never been in a BMW then im sure he loves the ss... Stock for stock the ss supercharged ones feel faster then my 335i... Its not however... I don't know about the turbo'ed ones but if they didn't straighten out the shitty launches with the supercharged ones then you should be able to take him from a stop... The cobalt was nice until i got the bimmer. It has ruined me.

The smarter guys are running some tunes with gear dependent boost on the newer turbo model. Lower boost early, then max boost near the top of second and up.
