Black rims = Racing Wheels. Would you ask the same question of NASCAR, F1 Lemans, IMSA, Indy or Cart? Those are some of the most appealing cars in world.
And different choices from yours does not mean its "Gheto!"

let's start another thread:
Just like why do people lower their SUV ( those big ass ones- expedition / escalade) and put those huge huge rims with little rubber- defeats the whole purpose of the vehicle

it's all personal preference.
imho, black centered wheels have been played out for a while now. but it still works well on some rides. people use black wheels on track cars because of all the brake dust that gets generated. so it's easier to take care of.

it looks good if u have the right kind of rims and your car matches the color of the rims. ex: porsche used to (not sure if they still do) have the option of having your rims painted to match your body color from the factory
