I could get it from here for $60 or $33 delivered snail mail (+tax) but delivery is upto 3 weeks! I've bought some metallic samples on eBay from a seller in Slovakia. The brushed titanium and brushed steel look a similar colour to the gloss antracite so fingers crossed. eBay samples Last edited by DanTheManc; 08-29-2012 at 07:58 AM.. |

Thanks gchild,
I'm looking at the photos using my phone do I can't see them too clearly. It goes really well with the cream leather. I'm not so sure it would look right with my black leather. It does look good though. I think silver dash and door strips with a matte black centre console would look good. |

I also did the surround around the air con controls to give it a continuous flow to the centre console. I think it worked well and glad I did.
Take your time to get the colour combo and application correct for your liking. |

finally a pic with 'beige and black'!
have been wondering about doing this for a while... haven't really felt the CF look, but this matt black look, with black floor mats helps offset the beige overload... can see a project coming!

I found that my piano black interior was getting marked too easily (any excuse) so I wrapped it with CF black bought from ebay. Used the 3M stuff, slightly more expensive than some others but has a really good reputation and was genuinely very easy to work with.
Took me the good part of a day to do the whole car but I'm chuffed with the end result, and I am USELESS at this type of thing. Like everyone else says, just take your time, practice on a simple piece and it'll be worth it. Anyway here's a pic: Looks kinda blue in this pic because of the flash, the first image is a more accurate representation of how it actually looks. Last edited by ram335i; 08-30-2012 at 02:59 PM.. |

Wasn't too hard... Had to heat, heat and re-heat to get it to press down on the edges properly to see the shape of the strip. Then just slowly cut around using a craft knife. If anything cutting around the ashtray trim was harder!

how easy is it to take off the trim bits? Every time I've had to take trim off in the past I've got myself into a pickle and broken tabs.

I see you've also replaced the shift selector and gaiter with the bmw performance versions - nice, I'm waiting for one to be delivered.
Here's my Carbon Centre Console. I chose not to wrap the centre console or the dash trim, but will wrap the door trims. |

Oh, I like the gloss carbon effect - where did you get that from, please?

BMW Performance range (carbon fibre) expensive though.
I also purchased a carbon gloss vinyl di-noc 3m sample and there is absolutely no comparison, the real stuff is way superior. As the saying goes - you get what you pays for. |

You mean Cyprio's car? Pretty sure that's genuine carbon...
I got my samples over the weekend, got to say the gloss and matte cf di-noc is pretty similar, not as much in it as I expected. I've ordered enough to do my interior now, should be here by weekend hopefully |

This is a really interested mod that's got my juices flowing!
How do you think a red/dark red would look on the door trims and dash, and maybe a black CF on the centre console? I have black leather seats. |
