anyone have any other information on this? It actually seems to support my suspicion that the computer limits tq in 1st gear. Wouldnt be anything new or special, Mazda did it when the mazdaspeed 3 came out since apparently 280 ft. lbs and FWD dont mix.

Actually torque limitation is in first and second gear , full lock up at thid gear

there is a difference between full lock up (tq converter) and the computer limiting the amount of power the engine makes, likely in our case that would be done through limiting the fuel. Do you know of the computer limiting the power output of the engine based on gear or speed?

Hooper, you should be able to see "Current engine torque output" and "Desired drive torque" using the BT.

yeah I havent spent a lot of time looking at that. I have tried once to log the two but didnt get the desired tq to display. Additionally the sampling rate was so poor that I only got a couple samples per gear, something like 2-3 samples for 2nd gear and maybe 4 on 3rd gear. I havent had the chance to keep looking for another value in the BT that would actually display desired tq, though I sort of remember seeing more than just two tq output values while looking through for a different value.

the update was done on my car just prior to me buying it - i'm seeing 800-900 per tank

My MPG didn't change either. I get same 29-30MPG as before on the same commute.

I continue to be puzzled why some have negative results from this particular SIB, assuming we are all referring to the same action, yet others perceive no effect or an improvement. I suppose it is possible for the dealer to dork it up, but it seems that it would either work completely or not at all.

Just got a call from dealer and they tested the car and its getting 9.5l/100km and they say its within specs. What can I do? I do not find this acceptable I'm mad.

I am getting my car back with no resolution

The dealer brought me the car and after they said that 9.5l/100 is fine I looked at what the computer shows in the dash 10.9l/100km

I'm so disappointed
