There r a few other things that I will b doing like an induction kit and exhaust system. I would be happy getting it to 250 bhp. I believe the likes of mstyle offer an upgrade with new headers, remap, etc which gives u an extra 50 bhp or so.... But it's expensive!
If the 3ltr BMW is anything like the golf r32, don't bother wasting you money trying to make it faster. I've seen lots of people spending $$$$$ changing headers, exhausts, induction and re-maps just to get a couple of ponies. From what I've read the bm sounds very similar to the R (not tunable). The only route with the R was to spend $$$$ putting a charger kit on it or to put a turbo kit which were both a stupid amount of money. So my advice would be change the exhaust to make it sound a little nicer and put up with the performance. If you want a quicker car change it for a nice scooby.
Yea I totally agree. I also used to have the Audi TT 3.2 dsg which is basically the r32. Was a fun car to drive but prefer the bmw

The suspension was crap on the TT I think because the vr6 lump is a very heavy one it used to under steer a lot.

Think its more of a case of been there done that now, time to move on or at least that was the case with me and the R. Also the high runn costs soon start to out way the enjoyment of the car. I think for me if I ever want to go back to a fast car again I will go back to another Subaru, I have owned 2 in the past and they are a great car.

Only available through BMW dealers (as far as I know). I paid £608 + VAT for the parts and I managed to DIY fit, so no labour. If you go this route, I have a set of BMW fitting instructions if you need them.

Yes, exactly that. Only downside is I now hardly ever listen to the stereo and drive everywhere with the window partly open...can't get enough of the noise!

There was one that went on eBay yesterday for £400, was it anyone on here that got it?

Is it a full cat-back exhaust or just a back box?

No, just a back box. In the States where they don't have the direct injection engine (because of high sulphur content in their fuel) the PE is back box plus resonator delete. But in Europe, the N53 resonator is much smaller and is difficult to replace because it carries an additional emission sensor about halfway along the exhaust.

I told myself I wouldn't mod my car, since owning for a month I have added a rear lip spoiler & now want this exhaust. Slippery slope ffs. Does this exhaust make you sound like a chav in a pimped vauxhall nova or is it tasteful?

Yes. Mainly because I presume I would have issues at emission test time if I did that. Though some people have done it or substituted sports cats...

No way! Its such a beautiful sound. No chav-tastic vauxhall nova sound...just a lovely burble around town or a sweet roar when opened up! Seriously...I consider it the best mod i've done!
