Does anybody have numbers from Cobb stage 2+ aggressive vs protune or know what gains one can expect to achieve?

As soon as I get my Wavetrac LSD installed I think I'm going to give PTF a try. I'll try to get Cobb stage2+ aggressive results before I switch, though.

Also I just spoke to a pro tuner in my area who recommended upgrading my exhaust before having him tune it… as there is a 250.00 retune fine… Is there a bang for the buck to upgrade the E92 (w/ cat less dp & no secondary cats) exhaust (to an axle back or cat back)??? 1,000-2,000 bucks for 10-15 whp (maybe)?

Very interested to see the difference between 2+ aggressive and PTF!

It depends how loud you want it to be as well, if you want more HP, obviously go do the downpipes w/ a full exhaust then go get a protune...i removed the secondary cats last night with my BMW PE and i now get a smile everytime i downshift w/ the Alpina TCU flash
If you want an amazing exhaust tone just get a straight pipe from the catback (my opinion i loved it) but then again everyone has different taste

Why not use ProTuning Freaks instead? They offer lifetime retunes if you add mods. The only time they recharge you is if you change the octane of your fuel.

Actually saw their (ProTuning Freaks) post about "etuning", which spawned my interest… I haven't seen any results from them yet… Certainly priced well below the $550.00 the local in-person tuner is asking, but doesn't it produce comparable gains???

PTF is probably the best known pro tuner for the 335i. There are hundreds of people on this forum that can vouch for their services.

let me know if you have any run ins with Johnny law. I've contemplated going obnoxiously loud but been advised against it because they have such a hard on for that stuff out here in MA

Only 8HP over stock with the Cobb Stage 1 Aggressive? Isn't that way low?

I said the same because you feel such a huge difference in performance from stock to aggressive but that difference is the huge gain in torque of 50tq

Thanks for posting your results Junior. We look forward to getting more modified N55s on the dyno. We are tuning a Vargas equipped 135i remotely at the moment with great results (420whp on 93)

Anyone know how these numbers match up to PTF and what they're putting out for our N55? My buddy's got an N54 e85 map from them that'll make you go from six to midnight to hear him tell it.
We have been tuning N54 BMWs since 2008. We were one of the first to have the Cobb key for AP cars and tune on E85. However new to E90post we are not new to tuning BMWs via remote or dyno tuning.

We have dyno tuned over all the popular current e-tunes with even greater results. Having a chassis dyno goes a long way further then datalogs to extract proper power from these cars. Check us out since you are local for consultation on your current file and what room for improvement there may be.

I'm an n54 but just got dyno tuned by Jake at PTF in Maryland and put down 388 hp and 451 ft-lbs. My car is running 93 and FBO. This was on a Dynocom dyno which the owner said could be 10-12% low. I baselined stage 0 at 276/265. Wish I had stage 2+ to protune but the dyno was acting up.

Thanks.

Much better improvement from cobb s1 to protune, its like that moment of a whole new car when you first went from stock to cobb s1..much bigger smile with the protune

Whats up guys, just wanted to update you on my recent mods & Protune, i installed the VRSF 5" Stepped FMIC, BMS CP, set of plugs(32k on plugs) & removed my secondary cats. Went back to BrenTuning and decided to get another Protune, here are my results:

Stock: 255whp / 255wtq
Cobb S1: 263whp / 305wtq
BrenTuning Map: 301whp / 365wtq
2nd BrenTuning Map: 325whp / 408wtq

Total Gain From Stock: 66whp / 150wtq

The baseline seems very conservative but I'm sure it's partially because you're AWD. Regardless, the important part is the difference between stock and your current tune, that is a really massive gain in torque. I'm impressed.. really curious where you'd end up with a downpipe and a little e85.

I was debating going meth or e85 but down the line i will get a meth kit, unfortunately no downpipe for me i live in MA and i dnt want a rejection for emissions every year, the torque is amazing finally puts you in the seat
