Thanks, Ed. You seriously nailed focus on that raptor. Perfect eyeball sharpness.

The day job in the boring office building with the nice view pays the bills, the photo business helps buy toys.
today's image is a sample from the xf 18-55 shot on an x-e1. Wide open at 18mm (27mm equivalent) f/2.8. I optimized highlights and shadows since they were a little blown out as well as corrected a little color balance. Outside of that the lens is pretty sweet, even wide open in corners. Though a little bit of fall off (easily corrected, but i kept it there) On a day off I went photo hunting at an abandoned train station near my apartment. Nothing about this location would even tip you off that this was in New York City. My other business partner and I did a markup/model shoot a couple of weeks back with lighting on site at a different part of this abandoned area which was more suitable for models which can be found here http://photocjl.com/queens/ , if you'd rather look at pretty girls instead of my the back of my friend walking (shameless plug). |

Nice shots, druu. Looks like a very cool place. Keep it a secret or you'll have all sorts of folks shooting there.

Six portrait shot pano of the skyline. Hand held, stitched in PS. The full image is 43MB and 51" wide. Really should have brought my CPL with me, though.

Mark that sunset shot in NYC is gorgeous...
Went to an M3 meet at a great photo spot today, but it got rained out before dusk set in, so we went to dinner instead. I managed some decent detail shots... It was a good turnout, about 20 cars, most of them heavily and nicely modded. Probably my favorite from the shoot: ///M in Miami by ddk632, on Flickr Here's the post on the local M3 board with the full set if you're interested in all the ///M goodness http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...&postcount=250 |

Was thinking that. The ///M stripes make that shot. Well done, David.
Very cool pano, Ed. Is that from your Yosemite trip?

Not getting enough done today, I must be getting old as I can't seem to walk very far.

Two years ago I saw this guys (three of them at that time) playing Ecuadorian folk music in Central Park. They were really good. I listened for a bit, shot some pics, drop them a few bucks, and left. Later I realized that they had been selling CDs and I stupidly failed to get one. So the other day I'm walking through the park again and there they are, except just two of them this time. The third guy was back in Ecuador. I didn't miss the chance to grab two of their CDs this time, though.
