i've had my car since December 15th of last year.

it gets wide open throttled once a week or so. car gets me 24.7mpg and i drive it @ 45-50 miles a day.

i will never track this car, i will not mod it beyond this point and i will never stray away from Map 1 on JB4.

that is, unless Cobb gets off their freakin asses and finally releases the 07 tunes.....

i'd rather mod my SRT8 seeing as it's not so damn sensitive to anything you throw at it.

i think the SRT8 is going for a cam in Garland Texas (ExatorqueTuning/SNL) sometime at the end of April.

understood Litos.

Thanks for the offer Michael From random forums perusing, I saw that Cobbs and JB4s tend to offer more HP that the PROcede, what is your opinion on that? Considering (from what is posted here) Cobb doesn't offer an 07 tune, I might just have to wait until they do and stick with intake/downpipe and cosmetics in the interim.

spoiler
19" staggered rims
HID's

by the time you get all that done, Cobb should have released the 07 tunes by then.

Def wanna get the spoiler that was mentioned previously and I've got a buddy with connections looking to see what he can get me for a full HID swap. Rims will be way further down the road unless some fall into my lap. Especially considering I just got a whole new set of Continental RFs on it last weekend

Thanks for the input

Where do you see that? In all honesty the tunes are all around the same power. You may be looking at different maps, mods, ect. Especially b/t the jb4/procede tunes. Cobb tunes haven't been out long enough to even have a stage 2 so it's not comparable yet...there are plenty of high 300/low 400hp procedes...

tbh, I don't remember, but I'm sure it was false lol

You guys ever see that annoying 'reduced power' engine light come up perodically? Got the ECU firmware update recall performed with the 30k checkup yesterday and I've had it come up twice when I WOT from stop. It's definitely intermittent. I tried to see if it would come up this morning and it didn't. Before the firmware flash, it happened once with the same scenario. In all cases, if I stop, cut the engine and restart it, it goes away and all performance is back in it's rightful place.

is said 'reduced power' light accompanied by you're rpms jumping around when the car is stopped and the car shaking like a mofo when you try to drive it? if so i smell a new hpfp and/or injectors coming your way.

actually no. It only reduces my power (rev limited etc) and does not exhibit any of those symptoms like alot of the posts have. Once I 'reboot' (yeah I'm a tech lol) my car, it's all good. Also, according to the dealer, my car is not flagged as being under the injector recall. (or whatever recall it was that was fuel related)

Any other ideas?

*Update* I plan on taking my car to the dealer with this symptoms once I can reliably reproduce the problem. It happened twice yesterday and I only WOT'd twice yesterday. From some of the posts I'm reading, it looks like it could be headed to HPFP/Injector issues. Considering manufacturer's warranty is out in April, I better get on it

HPFP is covered for 10 years or 120k miles. If thats the problem then you're covered.

really? Even if the car only has the manufacturer's 4yr stock warranty? I know the car also has a CPO until 4/2013, so I would think worse comes to worse it would be covered under that. If you're positive about the 10 year coverage for the HPFP (what else is covered for that long?) I'm gonna be thrilled!

niiiice!

If I had an issue after warranty is expired, and they found it to be the HPFP, I would assume all costs for the visit would be covered (provided there were no out of warranty repairs done?) Or have any of you guys gone through this? Prlly too early to say would be my guess.

In case anyone was interested, I was able to reproduce this issue pretty consistently. It seemed that if I WOT from 0-50ish, it didn't happen. But if I WOT to anything over 70-80, the moment I let off the gas, the light would come on. I've got an appointment with Classic BMW on Monday to get her checked out. Just hope that if it ends up being the HPFP, they have run out of the old models and only have the new ones. My guess is that would be the case considering how long it's been since BMW has acknowledged this issue. I'm praying that they don't just come back saying it was something small, avoiding the issue altogether and then I have the same problem shortly there after...

Anyone dealt with Classic getting the HPFP replaced before? If so, did they seem happy to work with you on the issue?

regardless of anything that's wrong with your car, the HPFP will be replaced.

your engine could be split in half and your transmission could only have the first 2 gears and they would STILL replace the fuel pump because it's a recall.

That's what I keeping thinking, but every time I ask them about it, they say my car isn't affected by the recall, which I strongly doubt. I guess I'll find out Monday/Tuesday.

Classic replaced mine- no questions asked. I have a BT tool and knew I threw the code they looked for. I called my SA, said the car wasn't running right and played dumb (could this be that fuel pump thingy I have read about). Once the ran the codes they replaced it no problem

If you were going in tomorrow- I would see you. going in to have my battery checked.

well that's some good news - who do you usually use for your SA? I was given a guy by the name of Dave Tucker.

Yeah, I'll see how Dave works out. If I have any issues with him, I'll try to specify Robert next time. Since I haven't been there before I just went with whomever they gave me.
