Glad they didn't mess with him. Hooper, my thoughts were engine putting out consirably more torque and this torque is applied to crank pulley ( and thus harmonic dampner) and then load is passed onto accessories through belt. Sort of analogous to tearing up u joints after hot rodding engine and differential was already bullet proof (like my Dana 60 in the cuda). The weak link gets torn up. Equally, it could have been ready to fail and the extra power took it over the edge. If they let him slide, by all means let sleeping dogs lie.

The only torque applied through that pulley that would damage it is the accessories, and their torque draw shouldnt have changed. I guess if the engine is spinning up faster now than before, it would require more force to accelerate the accessories more quickly. Either way, the actual dampening material (which is what I would interpret "loose internally" to mean) doesnt transfer any power it just sits there and absorbs vibrations.

Now I know.

I know because I have been inside the belly of that tiger. That growl upon acceleration, that pouncing with the DPF, SCR, and EGR removed. That menacing claw-like devourment of the quivering asphalt below those massive paws.

Congrats TorqueAddict.

Thank you for bringing me into the animal kingdom. What once I thought was merely lore, has now become reality.

In the belly of the beast

Love it bro. Can't wait to go for a ride. I hope he doesn't mind the mess I might leave behind

Just replaced mine and my gut tells me it was somehow related to my DTUK being on a fairly aggressive setting.

Hooper, we are both right to a certain degree. I remembered from my Dynamics of Machinery class that the load on the dampner would be to sum up net torques. The majority of torque is going out the back end of crankshaft. The cars drivetrain and also traction at ground are load torques.

Similarly, all of the accessories ruining off of the surpentine belt are also load torques. After thinking about it further, the extra power is going out back end of crank. That said, the extra power could be creating faster acceleration of crank and with it extra vibrational energy.

We all need to watch for this as we are pushing the drivetrain harder.

I was in the belly of the beast today. I can't begin to explain the rip your face off torque that is never ending. I'd get myself arrested with that much power but must admit that was intoxicating.

The stock D feels like a little TDI golf in comparison.

Jarek has done some amazing work with the tune. Cant wait for my tune just need to sort some things out first.

Anyone with the deletes have to go through an e-test in Ontario? Is the car capable of pulling off a pass with the deletes done?

Nope it won't.

Getting a pass is easy if you know where to go.
