i had 4 people in the car and it was very early my break-in period. the guy was desperately trying to get my attention by revving his engine and constantly starring at me at the light. i just smiled and launched with a 1-second delay at 5 mph slowly accelerating to 25 i bet that later that day, he was telling his buddies tales of how he smoked me...

Honda Pilot with 5 people in it. My friend and I were sitting at a light waiting for it to turn when all of the sudden we hear this buzzing sound. We turn to the right and this guy is starring at us revving the hell out of his pilot and everyone in his car is laughing hysterically...I coasted alongside him while he gave it everything he had and then I tipped in a little throttle to give them a smokey show haha.
On the flip side...I was out on the highway one day and a red GTO pulled up next to me. I thought oh jeez this should be a piece of cake. Well...we both hit it and apparently HE was coasting alongside me, then he gave it a little throttle and that thing SHOT ferociously forward followed by the unmistakable sound of 15lbs+ blowing off. We rolled down our windows and I yelled "twin turbos huh?!" he smiled and drove on. There's always something faster!

On a side note...whenever I travel to CA, usually Orange County area and South...its very easy to invoke someone to race you (when I have no intention of doing so). I haven't really noticed any other area in the US where its that easy. A quick rev of my rental car engine at the stop light, and all kinds of cars take off haulin ass . Any other areas like such?

Ford F150, probably a 2002? 19 or 20 yr old guy driving with his girlfriend. At a red light I had my windows down and he had a side exhaust and tried spraying me with it. Luckily the exhaust was well below my window so I didn't get any of it, and it was closer to my rear wheel. Light turned green ad he floored out of it to the next red light about 300 feet away. Then, at that red light he floored it full throttle and I coasted alongside of him. I floored it and blew about 10 CL up to 100. I shut down b/c I was approaching my turn and he continued to accelerate as fast as he could go and screamed out the window "F*** YOU P*SSY!"

I had a couple kids in one of the previous generation CIVIC 4doors try to go while we were running on the highway. A-hole kept driving next to me regardless of what speed we cruised at.

jk. I'll bet that some of the posters here thought that they were being raced, but the other guy didn't think anything of it.

On an aside note, I don't think there's a Bugatti Veyron within a thousand mile radius of Idaho. I have not seen one, EVER, here in the middle of silicon valley.

There aren't even many 335i around here. Mostly Ford, Dodge, and GMC pickup trucks.

The guy was clearly pissed that he paid $53k car couldn't keep up with my measly "normal" 3 series. Well....at least in a straight line, but he looked like a young punk who probably couldn't hit an apex if it came right at him. He kept revving his engine at me and I simply pointed...looked at my GF, looked back at him, and laughed. |
