2. Series 5 sales are seriously hurting the numbers, and this is perfectly normal since the model is currently being retired. Once G30 goes on sale, it will lift the numbers significantly.

3. Most of the CPO cars are actually new demo cars.

4. BMW cut incentives in the USA, and I'm really happy for that. In general they are making fools out of the buyers in the rest of the world when they are selling cars in the USA so cheap. Here in Europe we are very upset by the US/European prices. Since the global sales are hitting all time highs and are limited mostly by supply, there is no reason to offer such a great deals in America anymore. It's much better to sell more cars on a more profitable markets than selling them cheap in the US.

LOL Really! So I guess Audi and Mercedes did not lose those 2 working days then, because they certainly isn't down anywhere close to 16%. Mercedes down only 1%, and Audi up slightly.

Isn't the new head the guy from AUDI? So we're going to se more boring drive cars, more awd, and less dramatic styling.

Older M prices are going up since the newest models are not as pure feeling.

It would be hard to buy a new BMW when, for the same money, you can buy an American car that absolutely obliterates the equally priced BMW in performance. A Mustang GT, which is faster than the e92 M3, with a track package costs as much as a 330i four banger with soft steering and huge body roll. If I were looking for the "Ultimate Driving Machine," you can't compare the 330i to a Mustang or Camaro, much less a Stingray. But in all honestly, I'd buy an e92 or e60 over the f series BMWs and save even more money. You get better driving cars for far less money. It's a no brainer.

Once had a F series 335i loaner, and the car felt like it was floating. I couldn't wait to get my E90 back.

It seems like since 2014 the 6 series sales have dropped by around 50% each year, and that includes the LCI last year.

I get a kick out of reading this thread every month. It's the closest this forum has (except for the non-car-related forums) to the prototypical news blog post with a comments string stuffed with absolute cluelessness and gratuitous intellectual narcissism.

This is what I read in wsj today:

“More SUVs are coming,” BMW Chief Executive Harald Krüger told journalists on a conference call, highlighting the planned launch of the X7, pegged to compete against the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GL, which would fill out the company’s portfolio.

Mr. Krüger stressed however that he saw risks as U.S. auto sales slow and that the company would not chase volume at the expense of the bottom line.

If you want people to know your opinion you should probably post it here. I can't imagine anyone cares enough about it to search for it.

I did, and have. I'm not doing it every month; it's a waste of time and energy ... hmmm ...

... or maybe I will. Maybe I'll just say something different each time, like this month. Kinda sounds like fun, hehe.

I am not surprised that Mercedes is winning the sales title this year, but I am shocked at the margin, especially in the USA. Take the 3 series, for example, the smooth and powerful inline 6 is the best engine in the segment, but the remainder of the car is mediocre at best. The interior not very luxurious, and the car does not separate itself from the competition, in terms of driving dynamics, as it once did. BMW's bread and butter 3 series, is now an average car, with a great engine, and hence, average sales.

Great engine if you get the 6 cylinder........not if you get the 4 cylinder.......then it's even a worse deal at 45k-50k

I have to respectfully disagree in that the 2 series and 3 series are the most true to the brand driving experience. The only thing BMW needs to do is use nicer leather to improve the plush factor instead of the near vinyl quality dakota leather.

The new 5 series in nice, but I NEVER even think about the 6 series or 7 series as even being BMWs. They are so far removed from the core of the brand...and I mention that as a long time luxury car buyer. They are more Lexus than BMW these days.
