LOL Really! So I guess Audi and Mercedes did not lose those 2 working days then, because they certainly isn't down anywhere close to 16%. Mercedes down only 1%, and Audi up slightly. |

Older M prices are going up since the newest models are not as pure feeling.

It would be hard to buy a new BMW when, for the same money, you can buy an American car that absolutely obliterates the equally priced BMW in performance. A Mustang GT, which is faster than the e92 M3, with a track package costs as much as a 330i four banger with soft steering and huge body roll. If I were looking for the "Ultimate Driving Machine," you can't compare the 330i to a Mustang or Camaro, much less a Stingray. But in all honestly, I'd buy an e92 or e60 over the f series BMWs and save even more money. You get better driving cars for far less money. It's a no brainer.

I get a kick out of reading this thread every month. It's the closest this forum has (except for the non-car-related forums) to the prototypical news blog post with a comments string stuffed with absolute cluelessness and gratuitous intellectual narcissism.

This is what I read in wsj today:
“More SUVs are coming,” BMW Chief Executive Harald Krüger told journalists on a conference call, highlighting the planned launch of the X7, pegged to compete against the Lincoln Navigator, Cadillac Escalade, Range Rover and Mercedes-Benz GL, which would fill out the company’s portfolio. Mr. Krüger stressed however that he saw risks as U.S. auto sales slow and that the company would not chase volume at the expense of the bottom line. |

If you want people to know your opinion you should probably post it here. I can't imagine anyone cares enough about it to search for it.

... or maybe I will. Maybe I'll just say something different each time, like this month. Kinda sounds like fun, hehe.

I am not surprised that Mercedes is winning the sales title this year, but I am shocked at the margin, especially in the USA. Take the 3 series, for example, the smooth and powerful inline 6 is the best engine in the segment, but the remainder of the car is mediocre at best. The interior not very luxurious, and the car does not separate itself from the competition, in terms of driving dynamics, as it once did. BMW's bread and butter 3 series, is now an average car, with a great engine, and hence, average sales.

The new 5 series in nice, but I NEVER even think about the 6 series or 7 series as even being BMWs. They are so far removed from the core of the brand...and I mention that as a long time luxury car buyer. They are more Lexus than BMW these days. |
