There are plenty of cases of theirs, as well as other cheap wastegates, failing and causing some hefty damage. Best case, nothing happens and it lasts forever, worst case it fails closed and you push 30+ psi through your engine.

For a couple hundred bucks, its better to be safe than sorry imo

doesnt matter what you plan to push, if it gets stuck closed, you will send everything your turbo has into the system. Easily 30-40+ psi.

best case if it does fail, it fails open and you just can build boost. At least nothing would blow.

Ive seen the cheap wastegates fail off just 5-10psi. No way would i trust one at 25-30, but thats just me.

I hear ya... im not trying to be a negative nancy or cutting corners but i have read about failing wastegates for tial too, i mean if its based on a few one offs then maybe we need to not do these setups. Im going to try the on3. Ive read of them failing and ive seen em work fine so either way i think can be catastrophic.

I think the only thing that turns me away from this forum vs the others that i been on is the fact that there are sooo many ppl here who seem to be so negative, if its not something they approve of its almost like the "see i told you so's" lurking around waiting for the failure, so you almost never get a balance review on something, its either it works and everyone gives a review or it doesnt and people just go away because of the backlash to come". This happens on every forum but it seems significantly more prominent here. Either way, there is only one way to find out if something is "worth it" or not. Someone has to try.

It's a cheaper kit so it must suck. 😉
I'm trying to be patient with JP, but now he stopped answering my txt and emails. I might have to go ON3 also, don't know how much longer I can wait.

Yea the lack of communication and wait was just too much, actually the folks trying to justify it made it even worste... on3 should call jerry and thank him for the "boost" of business

Tho I haven't seen them, but from what I've reed, there quality kits, the piping anyway. I cannot justify 7k for a kit when a 3k kit works... No one wants to wait either, after 3 months for a kit,it puts a sour taste in your mouth. Fu** That!!!

Your going to see a lot more of these kits, just for the fact it took 4days instead of months. It looks clean, clean welds, even if the parts are outsourced,as long it's reliable, and the relationship is on point, they will start going off the shelf. I'm waiting to see one on a e60. I'm putting a n54 in a year, and I like this kit

In PTE terms it would be 6766. Borg Warner name their turbos base on OD.

Love to hear your opinion once you have completed the process and have it tuned. The $3,000 complete price is very appealing, particularly at first glance. I would likely omit the turbo and wastegate to go with something of more known quality and that would escalate the price ~$2,000, and make the end cost a lot closer to the competition. The competition is generally closer to $6,000, but that is for all name brand parts. In the end, you still save ~$1,000, and get an intercooler. I am sure that is enough to sway a lot of people.

Price is less than $3000 unless you want to go with everithing including charge pipe n all, but like you said, still a good bit of savings over the competition
