I like the cbr much better, it was much more comfortable for me to sit on than the R6, so trust I'm definitely drawn to it.
I don't think I'm getting a new bike (since depreciation is much lower than cars), I found a 07 cbr with about 4k miles on it for 7K is that too much or should I search around more?
You can pick up a brand new left over 07 for around 7.5K at a dealership. I dont think they changed from last year.

where do you live???? I think crazy freddie in freeport Long island will sell you one for that price. Pick up the sundays edition of the car buyers market. dealerships advertise there all the time and give you pricing right there.

yea definitely r1 much later, I'm in no rush for more acceleration than the r6 or the cbr are going to give me right now.

I like that cbr you are talking about that though, going to a couple of other dealers tomorrow.

If it's your first bike, there is an extremely high chance you're gonna drop it. Getting an R6 as a first bike is probably not a good idea either. I would recommend getting a used beater for the first year. You might want to pick a second generation SV650. It's a great beginner bike, and a lot seasoned riders use it as a track bike. If you want to meet the nicest people on 2 wheels head to: http://forum.svrider.com/

There is a dealer Called GoldCoast Motorsports in New Hyde Park Long Island. He has Triumph, Ducati, Aprilia, and another brand or two. He isnt to far from queens.

there's a place in the Bronx call MSS(motorcycle safety school) i think it cost somewhere in the $300. its a 3 -4 day course and at the end of it, they will give you the road test if you don't already have it. Its located on Alexander and Bruckner---close to the 3rd ave bridge. Theres a great shop right by there to, called Mastercycle. I got a 2005 R6 for 5 grand, fully chromed and 3800 miles
