where do you live???? I think crazy freddie in freeport Long island will sell you one for that price. Pick up the sundays edition of the car buyers market. dealerships advertise there all the time and give you pricing right there.

If it's your first bike, there is an extremely high chance you're gonna drop it. Getting an R6 as a first bike is probably not a good idea either. I would recommend getting a used beater for the first year. You might want to pick a second generation SV650. It's a great beginner bike, and a lot seasoned riders use it as a track bike. If you want to meet the nicest people on 2 wheels head to: http://forum.svrider.com/

there's a place in the Bronx call MSS(motorcycle safety school) i think it cost somewhere in the $300. its a 3 -4 day course and at the end of it, they will give you the road test if you don't already have it. Its located on Alexander and Bruckner---close to the 3rd ave bridge. Theres a great shop right by there to, called Mastercycle. I got a 2005 R6 for 5 grand, fully chromed and 3800 miles
