You had enough pain in getting the BT software installed, no need to scamble your nads.

Yeah we will see. I wish to see some flash tuners tinker with in-dash display modifications.

You can do more with the BT software so don't count it as a loss. The diagnostic abilities with it are still far beyond what we will be able to do with the PROcede interface.

So could you potentially access the iDrive?

No, that would require programming the iDrive module and then sending commands. The graphics are not in there and only data is sent across the CANBUS.

Not through OBDII. Technically he'll have access to the iDrive module through the CANbus interface... and all the information he could ever want... so potentially maybe he could display something on the iDrive

Now this is worthy of the 'Game Changer' title (unlike the last one). I just had a little talk with my JB3 and told it that it's on double-secret GS14 classified probation as of this news - I may have to take it out back and put it to pasture if what you produce is as good as it sounds.

Now this is change we can believe in!! woot

Technically, although implied, he hasnt stated which CANbus is/are being interfaced. There are 4 CANbus networks on the vehicle:

K-CAN, PT-CAN, F-CAN, and OBDII. The CCC is located on KCAN but as Scalbert alluded to it is not quite as simple to display graphics as you are inferring. However it may be possible to interface with the RDS on the RAD (and equivalent on the CCC) in a more primitive fashion (simple text) to display data.

But if I refer yo to this quote, "The current batch of PROcedes harnesses (that are being built right now) have already incorporated this update.", I am hoping that units shipping in 3 weeks will come from the new batch of harnesses and looking for clarification. I don't mind a little extra resonable charge if it saves me a reconfigure. Already done the V1 to V2 upgrade harness, and then the V2 to V3 PNP.

Hi guys,

Here are some answers to some of the questions asked:

- The PROcede is not going to be a substitute for the BT software. It will not offer that level of diagnostic ability. It is well beyond the scope of what we want to do with it. Instead, the PROcede will take a more functionality-based approach and use the newly acquired CANdata to improve upon what it already does best. Those to have purchased the BT software have made a very good decision. And those who were planning to purchase it should still do so.

- The upgrade price for current Rev2 users will be nominal. Maybe $25 and will include the new add-on harness wires. Nope, you cannot use old v2 harness bits for this. Different connectors on the rev.2 hardware.

- No one currently running a rev.2 has the harness update. Even those who have *just* received their unit. The changes are being implemented with the batch of harnesses that are currently in manufacture right now.

- Yes, the new BT software helped us achieve this level of functionality. Not to mention Duram who was actually helpful in providing us the info we needed to get this ball rolling. Companies actually helping other companies out. What a novel concept

- Yep, with CAN interface, we will have access to all sorts of ECU data. Which will allow us to provide incredible functionality to the PROcede. Like scalbert said, it will basically bridge the gap between piggy-back and flash. Each of their strengths with none of their individual shortcomings. Or at least that is the plan.

- And yes, DD maps will no longer be needed as well can program the PROcede to clear all codes automatically upon shut-down or start-up.

Cheers,
shiv

it could also be dangerous. Caution in the detect and write routine would be necessary. Typical non-volatile has a limited # of write cycles.
