I'm an extremely impatient driver, but I'd also consider myself fairly sensible. I drive fast compared to most drivers on the road, but I don't dart around like an idiot. Slow drivers piss me off to no end, but I'm more than happy to let people merge in front of me. As a student of psychology, I try to avoid what they call the 'fundamental attribution error' and assume that someone's actions are because of their internal dispositions rather than their circumstances - e.g. they're merging at the last minute because they're a total dickhead, not just because they're late for work - so I guess I'm fairly forgiving in that regard.

What if the circumstance is that they feel like being a total dickhead?

I never had a problem in the Beamer in Oz... quite the opposite I thought everyone is really polite, but when I drive a Commodore I encounter agressive retards at about the rate of 1 retard per 6 months.

In the Beamer, girls used to blow me kisses

IMHO late 30s plus men in Toyotas are the worst drivers. I guess they figure they have reached the pinnacle of their life and are driving a Camry.

Sometimes it is astonishing what people do - like speeding up 20 km/ h when you could overtake them slowing down again when you cannot. As you suggest, the temptation is to attribute this to bloodymindedness when more likely it is pure oblivion. Most bad driving is oblivion or bad road design rather than due to intent I suspect. Any reaction to it therefore means you are construed as a dick.

my biggest pet hates are drivers who slow down, then indicate, like im a fucking mind reader.

even worse are the people that dont put on indicators if they are turning in an intersection and you get stuck behind them.

srsly makes me so angry.

funny story, pulled up to the lights turning onto malvern rd today.

and i see a 3 series in my review, pulls up next to me, carbon copy of my e92.

i.e. 325 etc. except with beige interior, we exchanged hellos and nice cars etc. even got a complement on my wheels!

he was young aswell and also mentioned that the 325 doesnt have enough oomph.

all in all i like bmw drivers

There was a 10/10 chick driving an AW M3 with carbon roof behind me today. Unfortunately I had family in the car so there was no car-car conversation... :'(

And on behalf of the forum, you should post up pics of your g/f in the M3 so we can work out if it was her or not.

Wierd thing this thread,
I am from Johannesburg in South Africa and we have this very same discussion on our local forum (www.bmwfanatics.co.za) whereby people have this mind set that BMW drivers are a different breed of people when it comes to driving. There are times that i would be indicating for quite some time before someone gives me a gap and there are times that i will never get a gap.
On the flip side, when i am driving the wife's Volvo, it is so easy to get a gap.

, lived n worked for 2 years in Sandton mate, loved SA, is beautiful, was amazed at the number of Porsches and Lambos out there in Sandton, my company given Toyota looked quite out of place there...for some reason everyone there who doesn't drive a BMW believes BMW drivers are rash, usually reserve the right lane to themselves and expect others to move out of their way or are gun carrying gangstas
