They are universal garden hose washers. They come in two types. The round o rings one and flat. You need to get the rounded ones as the flat ones when glued together doesn't have enough height to keep pedal from hitting the kick down button. If you want specifically what I have it's from Orbit SunMate o rings garden washers. That's what's on the label. Hope it helps

I just did the mod and the orings are perfect. It looks OEM!!!! Lol. Its perfect and the pedal even if you smash it, you don't hear it click. I am going to take it out for a spin later and test it on the road. I was going to try the block idea posted earlier in this thread, but i didn't like the way it looked, yeah I have OCD with my car! These O rings fit perfectly around the throttle stem!!! Awesome

Someone said they logged their throttle and it was at 78%. That is the max for CAN DBW Throttle.

From Procede Datalog Channels 5.2:
"CAN DBW Throttle-- Actual throttle blade angle (0-78%). Not be confused with the “Throttle” channel which is applied throttle pedal %."

Here's the wood I used, got it at Home Depot:

Here's where I taped it in place. Still have to remove the silver duct tape sometime or do a better job of covering it up with black duct tape. It's been in place about 6 months so far and no issues.

I think the O ring is better than what your showing...I just did the mod myself and it really looks oem because it actually follows the shape of the kickdown button's ring...Once glued heck you cant tell for shit

+1 It works as long as there is enough pedal travel regards in D or DS mode.

It's not an excuse. Some people do get tired of it. I drove manual for 6 years in the city (DC). Never once have I ever burned a clutch either. I just got annoyed with stop and go, stop and go. I love the fact that my 335i is auto. My first automatic car ever.

Its a efficient and get the job done I guess to prevent kick down button being triggered but as for aesthetics I think I would rather go with my solution as duck tape IMO looks very cheap! Mine looks very OEM and that's the goal with me at least.

So the kickdown does nothing other than downshift? Doesn't it also active overboost in cars equipped with the feature?

Does it change any other settings in cars that don't have overboost?

Owning and moving a MT vehicle is completely different than properly driving one...

Okay Mario! You are an expert my friend...You should open up a school to teach people how to "PROPERLY" drive a MT.

Thanks for taking this thread off topic...Its about solving the kick down button and a MT doesnt have this feature so stop trolling this thread..

You're an idiot. Someone that drives in stop and go traffic thus prefers an auto over a manual and you automatically assume they can't drive?! It's a fact that there's more work involved when driving a MT in heavy traffic. Many would prefer to relax. You prefer to row. No biggie. I prefer a MT too but am thankful for my auto when in the city.

If you wish to continue your lame comments, start a "I am better than thou" thread.

Do the washers have any give? Just curious if it triggers when pressing down hard.

The washers once crazy glued to each other makes it hard but the orings are pretty hard to begin with since it's thick. I mean if your stomping on it like kicking someone I haven't tested that out! Lol. I do know a forceful push has not triggered the kick down button
From what I tested yesterday and today
