When do you think the turbo upgrades and kits will be out for the 335?

Coming from Audi S4 world, most people went from K03s to the K04s from the RS4. The lag was similar and most stage iii are killer 400+whp cars running 11/12s.
So, I think just a slightly larger turbo capable of pushing more boost without the stress of the smaller current limits is best. So you have reliability and extra boost with minimal acceptable lag. A single would be good too..but as you know, many supras run twin turbos and not just singles to deal/overcome lag issues. Biturbo is really good and nothing wrong with it IMO, actually preferred. Basically, find a direct bolt on turbo with no manifold replacement if possible would be ideal and keep cost like to $3-4K upgrade range giving you 400+whp. Larger turbos should only run about $1200 each I would guess. But haven't priced them lately. Subscribing to this idea. |

Looks like a new compressor housing. Looks like the stock exhaust manifold is cast into the turbine housing. Didn't someone do this upgrade to the 335i? Haven't heard much more about it.

Pretty sure the compressor housings are the same. Yeah, I found these pics on some other site a while ago, can't remember which one it was. Anyway, they might have some upgraded compressor wheels, tough to tell but you usually don't clip the turbine wheel for the stock compressor. They also have normal pressure actuated WG canisters.

check this out guys... From RD Sport (http://65.36.231.74/Catalog/Auto/Ser..._E92_Motor.htm)
R30 Biturbo The R30 Biturbo conversion features an oversized set of turbochargers (supplied in exchange for a set of original turbos with less than 5000 miles), a complete exhaust system, and the relevant EMS. Part Number Description MSRP 142 54 30 920 R30 Biturbo Conversion 6400 U 542 54 30 920 Installation of R30 Biturbo Conversion 1200 U Anyone heard anything about this? Haven't seen any mention of it on here. Looks like it comes with the Black Box unit and I assume there is a relevant tune for the new turbos. Sweeeeeet..... |
