Sales Tax for US buyers

Yeah, if you want to live in Oregon. You pay sales tax where you live or register the car, not where you buy it. I buy out of state cars now and again. Sorry if this was already stated, but I wasn't going to read 3 pages.

For North Carolina Taxes & Fees:

It's not sales tax exactly, they call it Highway Use Tax, and yes, it is 3%.

Also note, cars are part of the annual property taxes in NC.

I once bought a pickup in Kentucky, registered it in Kentucky, and paid 5% sales tax. Before it was a year old I moved to California. When I registered the vehicle there the DMV wanted to charge me 3% more! They also charged me commercial weight fees.
