Thanks. I do notice that it looks bright on my other laptop but on my Mac and Flickr seem lower. Will look at it again and adjust.

Martin, this really is the most amazing shot, the colours are fantastic, both on the car and the trees.
To get the most from both, I see the image with more colour in the trees and 'spotlighting' the car. I do hope you don't mind, and I'll remove it if you do, but I have taken the liberty of having a look at your image and re-processing it slightly - see below But, at the end of the day, it's your image and it's how you see it that really matters. A fantastic shot !

Thanks Alan allachie9 Appreciate the feedback. I tried to keep the image as I remembered but definitely fought between how much of the sunlight and colours I wanted to highlight. I like what you've done. I'm going to go and try to play with it some more to get variants.

I haven't seen a coyote in months, but it's getting cool and the first snow can't be far behind, so I'm looking forward to them before long. Meantime, here's a fave from last year:

Harriers give you that over-the-shoulder look more than any other bird, in my experience. Great shot, Ed.

Dave and Ed, great coyote shots, and all the other wildlife stuff too.
What is it with the coyotes that makes them leap and pounce like this ? Are they after small mammals ? Thanks.

That is exactly it Alan. Coyotes are expert rodent hunters, able to sniff them out in their holes, then dive on the unsuspecting critters.

That's right, in that pose they're going after voles, field squirrels, mice, etc. They tend to hunt those critters by ear, hearing the rodent, even under snow, and jumping on it. For larger prey, like prairie dogs and geese, they'll rush through a crowd of them at full speed, hoping to catch one napping. With deer, they pack hunt and grab it by the hind quarters and hope to bring it down. They'll kill around half our fawns. Dave

Now if you don't get a ton of hits off of that one, something is wrong.

A lovely day up here today, so I took a walk to both our beaches and the harbour.
Noticed that a lot of boats are now being taken out of the water ready for winter. Laying up for Winter by Alan Butterfield, on Flickr
